VEG is skilled to handle emergency care for avians, reptiles, and all types of exotic pets.

DO I HAVE TO CALL BEFORE COMING IN?

So glad a place like this finally opened up around here. We brought our cat Oscar in because he was having gastrointestinal issues of an unknown origin. Right from the start the staff was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They offered snacks, drinks and coffee which was sweet because we were a bit distraught and this was a rough thing to do on a Saturday night. Dr. Melissa Helstein explained each procedure (bloodwork, ultrasound, hydration) and what the results meant and presented options with recommendations based on necessity versus cost, unlike some places that try to charge you as much as possible. We felt respected and they were gentle and sweet with our nervous guy. I didn’t catch her name but they have a “cat whisperer” there who was amazing! They also sent us home with clear instructions, specific foods, probiotics and anti-nausea medication and I felt like there were no unknowns or conflicting information. It’s not a place you ever want to need, but knowing it’s there makes all the difference. We left feeling like Oscar, and us with our frazzled anxiety, had been in the best possible hands.

When you don’t know why your dog isn’t well and it’s the middle of the night, call VEG. You can talk to a vet doc immediately who will determine whether you need to come in. You’ll be welcomed by a friendly, attentive staff in an open service format. You stay with your dog the whole time. They talk to you at your level and make sure you understand everything and most importantly feel included and empowered in their care. I was in & out in an hour, with a complete assessment, ultrasound, IV pain meds, 3 prescriptions to take home and a detailed care plan. It cost about $550. My regular vet had the records immediately. VEG also followed up the next day to check on my dog. If I need an ER vet again, I’ll come here.

VEG is AMAZING! They greeted me with a smile when I walked through the door and instantly got to examining Stormy (my rat) my normal vet couldnt get me in until 3 days later and my little girl was sick and I didnt wanna risk it getting worse, they put her in incubator while we were there and they were so kind hearted there!! They handled her with care and they ended up giving us 2 meds to help her feel better, and then they did something I was not expecting at all, on my 2 hour ride back home they called me and they told me stormy and I made them so happy that they weren't even worried about the rest of the balance I planned to pay the next week, they r vets that truly care about the animals over the money 🥰 id highly recommend to anyone, such a great experience
