VEG is skilled to handle emergency care for avians, reptiles, and all types of exotic pets.

DO I HAVE TO CALL BEFORE COMING IN?

The medical care and staff at VEG Millburn are fantastic. The open treatment area lets you see how hard everyone is working to take care of the pets and their people. You are greeted the moment you enter, little Fredi was triaged immediately. Dr.Rachel Uvaydov vet was terrific, providing comprehensive care and clear communication in the 4 hours we were there -- in the middle of a busy ER environment. All the support staff -- Deanna, Naviya, Sinead and Surai in particular -- provided expert services to Fredi and continuous information to us during some long wait times. We were there 4 hours, but when your beloved pet has a potentially serious issue on a Saturday late afternoon, VEG in Short Hills is where you want to be. Everyone there exhibited grace under pressure, answered of all our questions with care - and Fredi was comfortable in the open waiting area while we waited together for her different tests and treatments to happen. It's no joke expensive, and you pay up front based on an estimate -- but their staff immediately refunds money due back to you after treatment and also helps out with 3rd party payment plans on the spot in a very supportive way. We saw it happen with a number of folks in the waiting room with us -- caring staff members got on the phone with family members to explain medical situations with the pet to folks at home AND to help work out payment arrangements. Thanks to everyone at VEG for being an extraordinary resource to our community. (and PS They have healthful snacks and drinks in the waiting area for the stressed out people and encouraged us to partake. Nice.)

I want to thank the staff working overnight last night. We brought my Diesel baby in because he was really struggling. Even though it was 3 am the staff was quick and very compassionate for our situation, all hands were on deck. I’d like to thank Dr. Rocha for explaining things in a good manner and being very patient with my family during this time. Also of course for taking care of Diesel and not sugar coating anything no matter how hard it was to hear. She was very caring. It was a very hard time for us as we had to put my almost 13 year old baby down, but i’m glad it was in the hands of your animal hospital. Thank you for caring for my Diesel when he needed it most. May he rest in paradise🤍

Very caring, respectful, and understanding. We had to put our 17 year old furbaby Spike to sleep, Dr. Jen explained the process and was there every step of the way. Dr. Jen and her staff not only cared for Spike's easy transition, but they also made sure that us- the humans- were ok. They let us stay as long as we needed, we never felt rushed. Thank you soo much Dr. Jen, Yuliza, and the entire staff.
