VEG is skilled to handle emergency care for avians, reptiles, and all types of exotic pets.

DO I HAVE TO CALL BEFORE COMING IN?

We took our 4 year old Portuguese water dog in for a true emergency. She needed a blood transfusion after eating rat poison and her blood was not clotting. There was lots of bruising but no internal bleeding to vital organs. She needed all all types of exams and several tests. She stayed overnight and needed lots of care. I called about every 3 to 6 hours and got all the answers I needed. I took her the next day for another blood test. They explained everything but since I had been keeping up with the test results on Dr. Chat Gpt I knew most of the stuff they were talking about. I was also uploading invoices as I was being billed. The prices are mostly normal and a few were a little high. But you're paying for comfort while you're in there. It is open concept so be prepared to have all your buisness out there. Everyone sitting around is very concerned about everyone's pet, some share and some over share. Whether or not that matters is neither here nor there, the vets are excellent.

The staff here was so so loving and patient and supportive during the loss of our baby bearded dragon. Spent around 500$ to get some x-rays to see fractured leg and collapsed lung. They supported us from 11pm-3am and even with the rough schedule the night staff was so extremely caring towards every single pet. They treated our baby as their own and took our loss extremely seriously while dealing with all of the other emergencies of other people’s pets. Despite not specializing in reptiles they did an amazing job researching on site and applying previous knowledge. During the loss of our pet, they have a room with a journal to write notes to your pets and last time treats for your pets, along with adjustable lighting and comfortable seating with many more things to make your pet’s final moments as loving and peaceful as possible. Not only did the very humanely euthanize her they also worked very flexibly with our budget and accommodating our needs. After all of this above and beyond treatment they sent a letter in the mail showing support for our grieving of the loss of our pet. Never experienced service like this and very confidently writing this 5 star review in hopes others recognize the care and positive attitudes behind the veterinarians and techs here. Thank you to all of the night staff.

The staff here is super friendly, the vibe is very chill, and the environment is clean and welcoming. Unfortunately, my pup had diarrhea during an X-ray, and it made quite a mess. I felt terrible and incredibly embarrassed, but the vet and nurses were so understanding and remained completely sweet and patient with us.
