I cannot say enough wonderful things about VEG Pet Hospital in Hoboken. My cat Binx went through a very scary medical emergency involving urinary blockage and crystals, and the entire team was incredible from start to finish. Dr. Chan was outstanding, and every doctor, nurse, and staff member we encountered treated Binx with exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism. They took the time to explain everything, answer our questions, and reassure us during an extremely stressful situation. Their kindness and genuine concern for both Binx and our family made all the difference. What could have been a terrifying experience was made so much more manageable because of the remarkable treatment and support we received. Thanks to their expertise and dedication, Binx is doing so much better, and we are beyond grateful. One thing I would like future pet owners to know is that emergency veterinary care can be expensive, but in my experience, the costs reflected the thorough level of care, diagnostics, monitoring, and treatment my cat received. The team was transparent about pricing and provided treatment estimates based on my pet's condition and potential needs. If certain services were not needed, those costs were adjusted accordingly. I would also strongly recommend pet insurance to anyone with pets. Unexpected medical emergencies can happen, and having insurance can make a difficult situation much less stressful financially. Most importantly, it allows you to focus on getting your pet the care they need when every minute matters. Overall, I highly recommend VEG Pet Hospital to anyone looking for outstanding veterinary care. The level of treatment, attention, and compassion they provide is truly exceptional. Thank you to Dr. Chan and the entire VEG team for taking such amazing care of our baby.

OUR DOG ALMOST DIED 😭 We came home to find our 12 year old Pit-bull with a turned stomach. We rushed him to VEG ER and they were so quick to act. Doctor Gaby Carl was incredible. She was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us all the facts but was also empathetic and kind. Doctor Gaby saved our dog. The surgery went well and we were able to take him home the following day. We are so grateful for VEG ER and their staff. We thought we were going to lose our family dog. Everyone was so accommodating and kept checking on us to see if we needed anything. Also love how calm and joyful the staff was even in the midst of a crazy moment. It made my family feel at peace. I couldn’t recommend them more.

2 for 2. No facility is perfect, and an ER naturally comes with its share of challenges, but we truly appreciate the care shown to our disabled pug. She suffers from spinal cord disease and is unable to relieve herself on her own, so occasionally we need a little help. Over the course of two visits, the staff was kind, compassionate, and genuinely caring. Because it’s such a busy facility, there was only one staff member present during both visits, all the others were new to us. That said, every person we encountered clearly had our dog’s best interest in mind. Especially Dr. Kim and Dr Paola (Didn’t get her last name). As a pet owner, it’s important to understand the difference between what is medically necessary and what may be recommended to reduce liability or rule out more serious concerns. Some reviews criticizing costs may not fully recognize that distinction. Ask questions, educate yourself, and discuss options before approving testing — the staff has always been willing to explain recommendations and answer our questions thoroughly. If you are considering surgery and have the luxury of time, it may also make sense to consult with a specialist, as this is primarily an emergency facility. At the end of the day, aligning expectations with the purpose of the facility matters. We’ve consistently been impressed by the kindness, compassion, and professionalism shown to both us and our dog, and we will absolutely continue bringing her here when needed.
