Dr. Danielle Debrincat

Medical Director

Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine

After completing her Rotating Small Animal Internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists, Dr. Debrincat worked at a specialty and emergency veterinary hospital in Westchester, NY. This is where she first learned about VEG. After several years, Dr. Debrincat made the switch to VEG in March 2020 and says, “I could not be happier!” Keeping people and their pets together and having the opportunity to help them through some of their most difficult moments is why she is proud to work at VEG. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, camping, and hiking with her dog, Wrigley.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the services at VEG ER for Pets

IS VEG OPEN 24 HOURS?

Yes, all VEG locations are open all the time – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – even on holidays and weekends to care for pet emergencies.

DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?

At VEG, we don’t take appointments, because we deal with emergencies. When the unexpected happens, call us or walk in to your nearest VEG location 24/7 for immediate care.

HOW DO I KNOW IF IT’S AN EMERGENCY?

Never self-diagnose your pet. Sometimes you just can’t tell if your pet is having a true emergency. But VEG can. Call your local VEG anytime and a veterinarian will answer your medical questions and determine if you should come in.

CAN I GO TO VEG FOR URGENT CARE?

Yes, VEG offers Pet Urgent Care for injuries and illnesses such as vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, limping, wounds, ear infections, eye problems, and constipation! Visit your local VEG and we’ll triage urgent care for your pet immediately. Learn more about the medical services we offer.

WHERE CAN I TAKE MY PET BIRD OR EXOTIC PET IN AN EMERGENCY?

VEG is skilled to handle emergency care for avians, reptiles, and all types of exotic pets.

DO I HAVE TO CALL BEFORE COMING IN?

Though you can just walk into any of our 24 hour hospitals, we recommend calling first so we’re familiar with the situation when you come in.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT VEG?

When you take your pet to VEG, you’ll be seen by a veterinarian right away, even before filling out paperwork. We’ll even meet you at your car if you need help bringing in your pet. No waiting in the lobby; you stay with your pet the entire time, even if surgery is involved. And yes, we’re pet lovers, but we’re people-friendly too! We’ll openly discuss diagnosis and treatment options. And we always make sure the pet patient and pet parent are as comfortable as possible.

Dr Blome (not sure I spelled it right) and her staff (especially the intake person!) were so kind and amazing to me and our dog, Bravo. He came in for something that turned out not to be a life threatening emergency but at the time I was so worried and they understood it was still scary for me as I could only see my dog was distressed and in pain. They fixed him right up and addressed his pain and the problem within minutes of arrival, explained things to me in a non technical and non scary way and spent the time to make him comfortable for his treatment to get him on the road to recovery. They got down on the floor with him and they let me be right there with him to comfort him and be part of the process. Bravo is home and on the mend (with a cone of shame for about a week)and I am so delighted with his care. Our vet recommends this place for all emergency and after hours care and I totally recommend them now, too!! They care - they literally care - about you and your pet and give treatment options and cost estimates and even have payment options available. Five stars!!!

No words can even express the gratitude we have for this clinic. We had to do the unimaginable euthanization of our very loved doggo Medusa. The staff were so gentle with our baby and were very comforting to us in this very hard time. The staff was super quick upon arrival and very honest and up front from the very beginning. Extra special THANK YOU for Dr. Figger, Becca and Joanne for everything you did for us and Medusa while she crossed the rainbow bridge🐾🌈🐾

Thank you to EVERYONE on staff during the three shifts that cared for my German Shepherd when his stomach flipped (GDV). VEG staff provided exceptional medical care and were truly compassionate to my family throughout the emergency surgery and long day in recovery. VEG staff met me at the door, had an area prepared, and delivered immediate stabilizing treatment with only a few minutes notice. They delivered life-saving surgery despite a very busy surgery room that night, and the staff prepared for my pup with urgency. I was able to watch the surgery and was informed of the progress at every step. Afterwards, we were given a room where I could stay with my pup as he woke from surgery and through the next morning. Today, our happy pup is at home recovering, and we are cherishing every extra day we have together. THANK YOU to all of the hard-working professionals at VEG.
