When one of my worst fears came true and my cat Penny experienced a life-threatening urinary obstruction at 3am, her VEG team not only saved her life but also showed a level of compassion and dedication that’s hard to find elsewhere. Thank you so much to her team — Dr. E, Dr. Neal, Dr. Caldwell, Megan, Hannah, Nola, and everyone else involved in her care — for taking such incredible care of Penny and turning one of the most terrifying experiences of my life into one where I left feeling relieved, with my best friend still by my side. Her doctors performed life-saving surgery before dawn and went above and beyond in every aspect of her care, including patiently answering my endless list of questions. Her technicians were incredibly kind, hardworking, knowledgeable, and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed to be as comfortable as possible during our stay. As any emergency visit understandably is, our visit was expensive, but the team helped me save money in every way they could. I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for VEG. I’ll never forget the compassion, skill, and reassurance they showed me during the scariest night of my life.

Hey. My name is Oliver. I’m a Goldendoodle who likes to eat things that I shouldn’t. I swallowed a part of my toy yesterday and my dad was convinced it was an emergency. 🙄Thankfully, he took me to VEG in Clifton. They are so pawsome! They saw us immediately. Within 8 minutes of walking through the door, they had me vomiting the thing I was allegedly not supposed to eat. They even gave me fluids so I could leave nice and strong. I don’t like going to see a doctor, but they make me feel super comfortable and really show me lots of love and care so it makes the experience digestible (hoomans call that a pun). Anyway, just wanted to thank Dr. Rothstein for overseeing my care along with Ariel, Darcy, Jackie, and all the other ladies who absolutely fell in love with me. I mean, helped me (sorry, autocorrect). Anyway, gotta go. Dad is calling me to the park. Thanks again guys. I’ll be sure to tell all my friends. 🐶🫶🏽

Best experience ever. No one was ogling me. They allowed me to make my decision and were very transparent along the way. They explained everything that they were doing to my puppy and the next steps. Very very satisfied and will recommend. Obviously is an emergency hospital so prices are what are usually charged in ER. I thought the prize was reasonable and I got a refund for services not rendered go figure an honest place . Great staff from the front desk to the doctors and nurses. Highly recommend .

Cannot praise this place enough! Every single staff member was nicer than the next. We were there for about 3 hours waiting to be seen, but had multiple check ins from different workers asking if we were okay or needed anything. Will definitely recommend them to anybody who needs emergency pet care!

They are incredibly professional, and Katie girl and I felt a profound sense of compassion and care from the entire team. They went above and beyond to ensure that my family and I had more time with Katie girl, despite the uncertainty and risks involved. They took every measure they could to provide the best possible care, and I believe they did it to the best of their abilities. I won’t delve into all the details or make exaggerated claims about this group’s abilities. However, this particular miracle was unexpected for Katie and me. I want to emphasize that this clinic stands out as the best veterinary facility I’ve ever visited. The design and ambiance are delightful, but the staff truly surpasses all expectations. Their unwavering faith and determination are truly inspiring. When I was at my lowest, overwhelmed with tears and heartache, they were there to support me. They had unwavering faith in the outcome and kept reminding me not to lose hope. They meticulously explored every possibility, ensuring they had all the complete information and steps before asking me if I wanted to proceed or let Katie move on. While this is great to know, I ultimately understood that things may change and not be what was thought out to be. I fully understood this and that’s why I was okay either way because they earned my trust and helped Katie feel better right at that moment of pain. They even went the extra mile to research and consult with other professionals to ensure that they had all the information they needed. They checked all the boxes and made sure that everything was in order. This team, along with their sponsors and funders, truly deserve long life and the best things in life. I have never been so trusting and confident with any other team in the past, but knowing that I can always count on this group gives me peace of mind. Life can be unpredictable, and our furry companions are always there for us. We want the best for them, but life throws unexpected challenges our way, especially when we receive the news that we never want to accept for our beloved pets. This team stands out as the best in the field. They don’t mislead us or provide inaccurate information. I cannot say enough incredible things about Veterinary Emergency Group. They recently took care of my 14-week-old puppy, Timber, after she accidentally swallowed a treble hook hidden in some moss. It was one of the scariest moments of my life, but the entire team handled it with compassion, confidence, and absolute professionalism. From the moment we walked in, they treated Timber like she was their own. They kept me informed every step of the way, moved quickly without ever making me feel rushed, and showed such genuine care for her comfort and safety. Knowing she was in their hands brought me so much peace. A special thank-you to the team for coming up with what they called the Axl maneuver — their creativity and expertise quite literally saved Timber from a very dangerous situation. I’m endlessly grateful for their quick thinking and dedication. Timber is home, safe, happy, and healing — all thanks to VEG. I will recommend them to anyone who loves their pet like family. Wonderful experience! Being able to stay with my dog meant everything to me. Nothing was done in a backroom - you watch over your pet at all times and can participate as much as you want. I was very satisfied with the explanations about treatment plans and was grateful for the team approach.

Five stars because this place has done so much for our beloved pets and our family over the years. Today, our hearts were shattered when we unexpectedly lost our sweet Millie. In one of the most heartbreaking moments we’ve ever experienced, the entire team at ER Pet Vet showed us so much compassion, kindness, and grace. They comforted us when we needed it most and treated our precious girl with such dignity and care. Every time we’ve brought one of our pets here, they have gone above and beyond. It’s clear that every member of their staff truly loves animals and genuinely cares for the families who walk through their doors. Although our hearts are completely broken tonight, we found comfort in the love and support you gave us during such an unimaginable loss. Excellent experience with VEG ER in San Ramon , professional team oriented work flow. We were informed throughout our visit and especially appreciate the transparency and open approach to the veterinary care. We were able to be with our dog Olive as she was given sedative , monitoring, exam and diagnosis of bilateral ear infections by a veterinary nurse and two DVM! Highly recommend this vet emergency room. Big thank you to Dr Christine Kim DVM and Kylie C. RVT for their professional top notch care !!

My kitty Zedd was having trouble breathing and we were really worried about him and couldn’t get him in anywhere else so we decided to take him over to VEG to get him some help. The entire experience was absolutely amazing. They got him in as soon as we walked in the door and they got him on Oxygen ASAP and ran through their check up. The vets were incredibly transparent through the entire process and they did not go crazy charging extra money on anything. I really appreciate the extra special care they took and I was right by his side throughout the entire process. I’m so happy we decided to rush him here rather than taking him to the normal vet and potentially having to wait while his breathing got worse. We learned that he has asthma and they went through all the steps with me on how to take care of our baby and make sure he was back to feeling better and breathing easier. Not only could I see the quality care they were giving to my kitty but also all the other animals at the clinic. Highly recommend VEG to anyone else who needs emergency care for their pet and knowing good well that they will do a spectacular job! Thank you so much for making our boy feel more like himself again! :)

I don't remember my vet's name. Sorry! However, she was amazing! She listened and understood and validated my concerns. Based on Dexter's current treatment of antibiotics and his response to treatment, she thought of a more comprehensive way of treating and addressing it. She included me in the decision making process. Before finalizing a treatment plan, she wanted to think about the coarse of action. Her decision was spot on for Dexter. Within two-days, Dexter began eating again, after not eating for OVER a week. He had less discharge from his nose and his activity level improved drastically. The antibiotics and steroids are working. My Dexter has returned. Her approach to treatment was unconventional compared to what I would have received if I had gone back to Angell's. I truly feel that her approach saved his life. Thank you so much! I will totally recommend VEG to others.

VEG saved my baby’s life!! I’ve been to VEG on two occasions. Each time the staff was friendly, skilled, and transparent. The most recent visit my cat was in a crisis state due to her organs being out of place. We watched as they literally revived her and stabilized her on oxygen to allow us to drive her to Access Palm Beach hospital that performed the surgery. They communicated everything with Access and their staff was waiting as we rushed her in. She made a full recovery and is back to her usual self thanks to them! Even if the outcome was not as great, my rating would not change. Medicine is often a game of chance but when it comes to the skills, they went above and beyond and we're so grateful! The other visit was for a simple ear infection for my dog that happened on a holiday weekend. I didn’t want her waiting for days in pain to see her primary vet so I took her to VEG and they treated it well and it was just as great of an experience, just with a little less drama ;)

There is nothing that could have been done better — we had a wonderful experience, all things considered. If we ever need emergency vet service again, we will definitely make our way to VEG. Dr. Gu was kind, compassionate, and thorough. I was also amazed at how well VEG communicated with Captain's regular vet. In fact, the communication was so good that we moved our follow-up appointment from Monday to Tuesday, since his regular vet preferred to see him once he was off his pain meds, to get the most accurate exam. Captain's regular vet knew about the medication only because VEG had kept her so promptly and thoroughly informed. Thank you! I'm sorry to say I didn't catch the name of the nurse who checked Captain Jack in, and out again. She was warm, communicative, and went above and beyond to keep Captain comfortable.

We had to bring Zoey in for an emergency, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to care for her. From the moment we arrived, both the veterinarian and the nurse assisting her were exceptional. During such a stressful time, they both showed great professionalism, empathy, patience, and, above all, treated Zoey with so much love and care.They kept us informed, answered all our questions, and made sure our baby received the attention she needed. We are extremely grateful for the way they treated us and for the reassurance they provided throughout the emergency. 🐾 **Excellent Team. We definitely recommend this veterinary clinic 100%.

I have three names Dr. Kass, Mel, Olga and the receptionist… all four were wonderful. If I have the name right, Mel, the African American woman who helped nursed us, was truly exceptional. During one of the hardest moments in our lives, you need to feel compassion and genuine care, and that’s exactly what she gave us. She made us feel at ease throughout our visit, showed incredible kindness and strength, and helped carry us through a very difficult time. She was a source of comfort for both of us, and we’ll always be grateful for the love and support she showed. I loved that I could be with Lulu the entire time and she knew I was there for her. She never once shivered out of fear. 24 hours later Lulu is showing signs of improvement (Cervical IVDD discovery) and displaying all the positive signs of recovery. Thank you, Dr. Kass, Mel, and Olga, for your professionalism, compassion, and for making such a difficult experience a little easier.

My parents took their chihuahua Finn in last night for an ear infection. They were very happy with Dr. Lee and Briana. Excellent care with no waiting. Our extended family has five dogs and two cats so we have been to a lot of vets. We like the setup that allows you to be with your pet the whole time and we will definitely go back next time we need good care.

When Jersey was hospitalized at VEG for three days, the team transformed one of the most stressful experiences into something I will always be grateful for. Jersey is a very anxious senior dog. Like many pet parents, I was terrified when she needed emergency care. My previous experience at another local animal hospital left me feeling helpless and disconnected because I wasn't allowed to stay with my pet. VEG was the complete opposite. There are no restrictive visiting hours. You can come and go as needed. Whenever I visited Jersey, the staff welcomed me with kindness and compassion. Every time I visited, a nurse would pull up a chair beside Jersey's crate and encourage me to spend time with her while she received her IV fluids. Being able to hold her in my lap during a stressful experience was a gift. Throughout her stay, every doctor, nurse, and team member treated both Jersey and me with patience, empathy, and respect. They took the time to answer questions, explain her treatment, and make sure I felt informed and supported. The true testament to how special VEG is can be found in Jersey herself. Normally, she pulls and rushes past veterinary offices as quickly as possible. Yet after her potty breaks during her hospitalization, she would willingly walk back into VEG. For an anxious dog like Jersey, that spoke volumes. My deepest thanks to Dr. Weggeland, Dr. Hauser, Dr. Friedman, Dr. Green, and Dr. Johnson, as well as Christina, Nicole, Elise (?), and the many other nurses and staff members whose names I unfortunately can't recall. Every one of you played a role in helping Jersey and supporting me through a difficult time. VEG took a stressful and traumatic situation for both an anxious pet and a worried pet parent and made it feel safe, compassionate, and even special. I will never forget the care we received.

I stayed with my cat Marco a majority of his 36 hour stay at VEG and encountered a few different shifts of nurses and doctors. Every single person on those teams were welcoming and understanding beyond my expectations. I never once felt like he wasn’t in the best possible care. Genuinely couldn’t have asked for better treatment during and after his procedure thank you everyone so so much.

While VEG can be very pricey, that's pretty standard for emergency care, and I've found them to be largely accommodating. I wanted to specifically thank the kind vets who evaluated my poor kitty Felix, both when he was ill and at the end of his life. Specifically, the vet who helped FeFe pass on was very compassionate and supportive during one of the hardest days of my life. VEG also offered a quiet, dark room for a private goodbye, which meant a lot to me. I recommend them to all my friends with pets.

To the AMAZING staff that helped me, my husband, and our baby boy on Christmas morning, THANK YOU for doing everything you could, under stressful circumstances, on Christmas Day, to help my reactive and aggressive dog, Hurley, safely get tinsel out of his stomach. It has taken me so long to write a proper thank you because shortly after this incident, we had to euthanize our boy. I am still actively grieving, but I want you to know how much you are appreciated, especially under the extreme stress we and our dog were under. You all risked yourselves to help my dog without hesitation. He snapped over and over at the air, wanted to get as far as he could from you sweet people as possible, and you still tried your best to instruct me to help as his trusted person, get a cone on, give him dose after dose to vomit the tinsel - and it worked. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for taking care of us and our boy that morning. Upon returning home from RI, we had to say goodbye to our boy due to his aggression soon after. This was one of the last awful memories for us and stressful events for him after years of trying to help him, manage triggers, medications, and consulting with experts to keep him happy and everyone safe. He was at his lowest seeing you all, and you showed him and us grace that made it just a little easier, and that meant so much. People are often quick to blame, not understand, or lack empathy - but not your team. Thank you a million times over for your quick action, thoughtful consideration in reducing the stress and any procedures for Hurley, and for your compassion for animals and people alike. I will never forget that day for more than one reason, the second being how you responded with huge hearts. Thank you, you all are actual angels on earth.
