I cannot say enough good things about this place. From the frantic first phone call to walking out the door, I have never experienced such care, compassion, and kindness. The team were fast yet thorough, exceedingly compassionate and gentle, with skilled and knowledgeable hands. Unfortunately it was our girls time to pass and the team were just wonderful to us. The facility has a dedicated room for time to be with your family in a private setting for saying goodbyes. The financial side was a little steep. However, I will say it was worth every penny because oh how skilled, compassionate, and comfortable they made the experience. To the team working the early morning of July 3rd, thank you. Worlds can’t express our gratitude.

We took our 16yo lab in on a Friday night. From the person who greeted us to our tech to our vet, I cannot overstate how kind and empathetic everyone was. It was wonderful for our family to be with Lucy the whole time. The fee was extremely reasonable for emergency care. Highly recommended!

Even though they claim to specialize in more conventional pets like cats and dogs, they nonetheless did a fantastic job at removing cabbage from my bearded dragon's throat. The facility was very clean and well organized, and we were able to see everything that was happening. I hope I never have to come here again, but I know he'll be in good hands if we do.

Let me tell you guys, this place is a blessing. I came out of a double, extremely exhausted, I come home to pet my baby and I feel a bald patch. I was scared, he’s my first pet and as tired as I was I drove all the way to Boston praying it wasn’t anything serious. The staff here (Marcus and Nina, Dr yogo, and Casey) were so amazing. They took such amazing care of my cat, and were so kind and gentle and very understanding. I was so stressed out and I’ve been going through enough ad it is and they took that all off my shoulders. 11/10 place, best decision I’ve made coming here for my baby Future 🤍🤍🤍

My wife and I went in on an emergency visit for our kitten. Very friendly and quick to get us into a room and looked at. Dr. Jernigan was extremely thorough and answered all our questions. The facility was really clean and kept well.

I came here with my dog when I noticed she was breathing heavily at rest. I wasn’t sure if it was from anxiety watching game 4 Knicks v spurs or from a heart issue since she’s an old gal. The team on that night was really attentive. They immediately took her back and the doc had an US probe on her as soon as we came in the door. The whole team was excellent and had really good communication skills. The doc did a really great job reassuring me that she was going to be okay - I really appreciate these guys for their excellent and thorough care that night. Thank you so much! Please keep doing what you’re doing!

There aren't many emergency choices south of 440 in Nashville (I-65). Our dog had a traumatic medical event, so we scooped her up and headed north. We went to a competing emergency vet. Though there were no cars in the parking lot and nobody in the waiting room, they turned us away. The interaction with the front desk person was awkward, and the explanation of why they couldn't treat our dog wasn't really believable. We then went to VEG to find care for our dog. From inside, they noticed me approaching and "hot-footed" their way to the door to open it for us. Inside, our dog was immediately surrounded by a team of technicians and a vet who quickly gave us a diagnosis as if we were in some fancy ER show. Though our dog could not be saved, the staff was the most compassionate, loving, and attentive vet group I have ever seen. We were not rushed to have our dog euthanized, nor were we rushed afterward while we grieved. I went to pick up her remains about a week later, and was again greeted at the door and promptly given service with the same friendly and caring demeanor as our last visit. I cannot say enough good about our experience with VEG and would emphatically endorse their services to anyone with an animal in need of emergent care. Your mission, compassion, and values spoke to our hearts. Thank you so much for providing the best end-of-life care our Kona (and her "parents") could expect.

My experience was fantastic. I was immediately greeted at the door and shown straight to a private room. All the staff and the doctor I interacted with were great, kind, caring, compassionate. They went above and beyond in handling and treating. The assistant Gabbie and Dr. Boutcher were both fantastic. The other helpers were great as well although I didn't get their names. Gabbie especially was great throughout the whole process. Very caring and professional.

Everyone at this Veg location was absolutely amazing when caring for our cat. They were very friendly and understanding with any questions or concerns we had. I loved the open concept of the hospital so we always knew exactly what they were doing when treating him and how he was doing through the whole process, when he needed a break from the medical care they stopped what they were doing and came back later as to not stress him out too much. Very thankful for their care and will definitely go back if needed and would recommend to others.

Best ER vet I’ve ever been to. They treated my dog Annie with such care and compassion that I’ve never experienced anywhere else. Dr. Carlos and his team were exceptional, very communicative and so nice. I wish I got the names of the nurses and assistants to shout them all out but everyone was great. Annie is a happy pup back home after being hospitalized - thanks to the team 🐶 ❤️

Every single person there from the front desk to the Drs was amazing. There was not one person that didn’t make sure we all were doing okay. From the second we ran our dog through the doors thinking we were going to lose him to the second we walked out with him wagging his tail to go home everyone had a part in saving him. Thank you so much VEG Commack!!! We all can’t say thank you enough for saving Bishop!!!

I just wanted to say thank you. It’s been almost a month now since i brought Harvey into VEG. I work 7 days a week and i use to end everyday by watching a movie with him, in fact the last movie I watched with him was G-force. One day he felt different so i took him in straight after work at 10 at night and VEG were the only ones open. I stood watching Harvey in his incubator, watching my baby get old and all i could feel was everything. Everyone at VEG was so kind for a moment that felt like the world to me. I spend most of my days not crying, actually, but for Harvey it was the first time he ever broke my heart. A week later when they handed me him in a box he was just as small as the day I got him. VEG and all their staff showed compassion the whole way. They weren’t with Harvey his whole life like I was, but they treated him like he had more of it. Weeks later they were kind enough to send a letter, as everyone else in my life forgot that he meant everything to me, VEG was the only one to say anything at all. Take your pets here if you need help, they did the best they could. Harvey was taken care of in his last moments, and he lived longer than i ever thought my he would if im being honest. I hope we can all outlive our expectations and then go quietly with those who love us. Thank you to all your staff.

Took my dog Roo to VEG this morning after she got into the trash, and I honestly had a great experience. The entire staff was wonderful. Leah, the assistant, was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and so sweet with Roo. Dr. Schwartz saw us quickly and took great care of both of us. The facility was clean, open, and very welcoming. I really appreciated being able to stay with my pet the entire time. On top of that, the pricing was very reasonable for a 24/7 emergency hospital. Overall, excellent care and an experience that made a stressful morning much easier.

Highly recommend this VEG! They took great care of my kitty Simba, and great care for me as well. This vet is amazing and their care for people and animals is phenomenal.

Our dog Rosie was there for three days unexpectedly and we can’t be happier with the service we received. Every doctor and nurse there went out of their way to make Rosie feel like she was the only dog there. Our dog is very anxious to begin with so we were nervous to leave her there overnight. They sent us updates and pictures of her throughout the stay. She had so much attention that by the end of her stay she didn’t want to leave! We also were able to be a part of all her treatments and they accommodated seperate areas for us to be with her while we visited.

I had one of the scariest nights of my life when I came home and found my dog, Rocky, with a large open gash on his chest. I was panicked and didn’t know what to do, but from the moment I walked into VEG ER for Pets, the staff took over with such calmness, compassion, and professionalism. Dr. Michala Frederic was absolutely amazing. She was kind, reassuring, and took the time to explain everything clearly while moving quickly to care for Rocky. The entire team made such a terrifying situation feel manageable, and I truly felt like my dog was in the best hands. You can tell they genuinely care—not just about the animals, but about the families who love them. Thanks to Dr. Frederic and her team, Rocky is doing so much better, and I am beyond grateful. They truly saved my sweet baby boy. I will never forget how they treated us that night. Highly recommend VEG ER for Pets to anyone who wants their pets in loving, capable hands.

The folks at VEG are amazing. They were very knowledgeable and clear in communicating our options in a very tough situation. They let us stay with our dog the entire time he was receiving care, and were quick to give us updates on what was happening when we were away. Our boy would quite literally not be with us today if they did help us with such care.

VEG ER was amazing in helping me when I brought in 5 two day old kittens, one of which needed surgery—an amputation. Dr. Sullivan, Theresa, and Trey were the dream team, expertly navigating this surgery on such a tiny, two day old kitten body. I felt more compassion in this room than I have when I go an actual ER for humans. That is a quality we need back at all levels of humanity. This group of people should be proud of what they do not just for the animals but for the humans too. They were often showing empathy for the situation more than the owners could appreciate. I can’t say enough. I am grateful for them all

I took my dog of 16 years of age KoolWip into this ER at 12 midnight and I was greeted with the best professionalism I’ve ever seen, and my dog was taken care of immediately. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything that we could do for my baby and I elected to allow him to go and rest in heaven. I was given a very quiet peaceful room to say my goodbyes to him and sat with him for a while and then the doctor gave him the medicine to let him go to sleep. I just want to thank them for how much they did. I’m so happy that it was there that I was to say goodbye to him because they treated me with the best sympathy and empathy. Thank you so much for loving what you do and it’s showing in your behavior. My KoolWip will be missed very much. Tina Willis

Amazing service for my sweet girl. Luna has been recently combating cluster seizures that have been happening out of no where, we rushed Luna to VEG in Lincoln Park and the service was amazing! A bit pricey since Luna did stay overnight and it is an emergency vet but the doctor made sure to communicate pricing and ensure that everything I was paying for, I was comfortable with. In addition, they also record of her blood work and transcript of conversations had regarding Luna's care in the invoice. They gave me her new prescription and overall an amazing experience. They also kept texting me with updates in regards to her care while in VEG. So grateful my Luna was under their care.

We brought our ball python in for a respiratory concern and had an excellent experience at this veterinary office. From the initial phone call to the actual visit, everyone was helpful, professional, and kind. They took the time to answer all of our questions and even provided a rough cost estimate beforehand, which we really appreciated. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and made to feel comfortable right away. They offered us drinks and snacks while we waited, which was such a thoughtful touch. The staff was patient, knowledgeable, and thorough in explaining everything. They made sure we understood the treatment plan and even offered help with administering medication if needed. We’re very thankful for the care and kindness shown to us and would confidently return for future visits!

My 6-week-old kitten Cheeto was brought in early this morning (Memorial Day at 2am) due to serious internal complications. From the moment we walked through the door, my boyfriend and I were met with the warmest, kindest welcome during what was the hardest night of our lives. I was so overwhelmed that I could barely speak, but the entire team was incredible with both of us. They immediately sprang into action with compassionate triage and care for Cheeto. They took the time to clearly explain everything to my boyfriend, patiently answered all of his questions, and made sure we both understood what was happening. Despite the holiday and the late hour, they treated Cheeto like he was their own and did everything possible to help him and ease his suffering. Dr. Posada was outstanding — his medical skill and genuine empathy made all the difference. I also want to give a special thank you to the woman with the pink hair, who never took her hands or eyes off Cheeto for hours. Her gentle presence meant more than she will ever know. I’ve never lost a pet before, and this was a devastating experience. Even though the outcome wasn’t what we had hoped for, I am so grateful to the entire VEG ER staff. You helped us feel like we never gave up on our little guy and gave us the peace of knowing he was surrounded by people who truly cared. I cannot recommend this ER highly enough. Thank you for supporting both of us with such compassion and professionalism.

Dr. Ejezie and the staff here are phenomenal. Although our little fur baby Anubis ultimately was put to sleep, they did everything they could to help us understand his prognosis and our options. The out come was not what I wanted, but I know he was in the very best hands right until the end.

I hope you never have to go to the Emergency Vet…but if you do, this is the one. I am so incredibly grateful for the staff here. Dr. Ray was very knowledgeable and transparent. She did a wonderful job at putting us at ease when there wasn’t anything wrong, and did just as good of a job 3 days later when there was something wrong. She presented us with all options, making sure to go over R/B/A. The whole time the nurses and vet was working on her, we asked if we needed to move but they were always so insistent that we stay next to her and they would work around us so we could be by her the whole time. Ultimately, we had to make the tough call of putting our baby girl down. Although Dr. Ray’s shift ended at 7:00, she stayed the whole time until my husband and I were ready to leave. We never once felt like we were “just another patient.” Ein was always treated as if she were a staff member’s dog. We are forever grateful for this place and everything they did for Ein and us. ❤️

Our experience at VEG-Chantilly far exceeded our expectations. The staff was extremely attentive from the moment we arrived, meeting us at the door and completing an immediate triage. The large, open, shared room was surprising, instead of the usual individual 'hidden' exam rooms. We observed all pets being given floor pads or blankets for comfort, and everything was cleaned immediately after clients left. It was comforting to see staff interacting with every pet as though it were their own, giving lots of love and making owners comfortable as well. Diagnostic bloodwork was done onsite, with very fast results. Dr. Samantha Storey treated our dog for seizures, sharing her first-hand experience with the condition, and she instilled confidence that the chosen treatment plan would allow our young dog to live a happy life. Our visit to VEG-Chantilly was stellar.

Last week was a scary week for our family.. Our 10-year-old lab, Digger, needed emergency intestinal surgery after ingesting four pairs of underwear (yes… FOUR 😭). I, along with my family want to publicly thank the incredible team at VEG for the way you cared for Digger, and for the way you cared for me and my family through it all. From my endless tears and heartbreak to every decision and “what happens next,” you walked me through step-by-step with patience, compassion, and true professionalism. With his age and a very difficult healing process, we’ve had countless visits and still have ongoing ones… and not once did you make me feel like I was being “too much” or overdramatic. You understood that Digger is family, and you treated him like he was your family too. And as you can see by the picture, his brother Dallas is worried about his big brother too. ❤️ The love and worry doesn’t just stop with the humans in our family, our pups feel it too. We’re still not completely out of the woods, but I can’t put into words how grateful I am for your care, your kindness, and the compassion you show every single day. Thank you, VEG, from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️🐾 God Bless, Marla and Doug Stilwill

I brought my golden doodle in due to his behavior being abnormal and not being able to keep anything down. They immediately took us into a room and began the intake process. They were busy with other surgeries, but we never felt pushed aside or ignored. The tech was super sweet and began doing ordered draws we had discussed prior. Her interaction with my pup was so kind and she was comforting towards my pup. Everything she was doing, was being explained while she was doing it, so there were no questions or concerns. Dr. Crawford and her staff were attentive, friendly, and had a passion to care for the pets. I highly recommend the team for your pet if you need to go to the VEG ER.

I am blown away by the level of care and empathy during my visit. I took my cat in and was promptly seated in the triage area where I was able to stay with my pet the entire time. During all of the tests and treatments, I was able to stand by and watch as the doctors worked, it was so comforting to be able to see what was happening. The only time I was separated from my cat was when they took her in to get XRAYs, and even then I was able to watch through the window. Throughout my visit, I was checked on by the staff and was made sure I was comfortable, even offering me snacks and drinks. I am now home with a happy cat. Thank you VEG!

We brought Pepper to VEG ER for Pets at 2AM unsure that she would survive until daylight. The immediate care and concern that we received was exceptional. We were told what was happening and what needed to happen. We brought Pepper home after a 3 night stay. She’s acting as though nothing was ever wrong, no trauma at all from all that needed to be done to bring her back from almost dying. There is definitely more that we will need to do for her continued care which was carefully explained. I would highly recommend bringing your pet here should an emergency happen and your primary vet is unavailable. ❤️🐾

I brought my cat in during a stressful situation, and overall the team at VEG ER took great care of her. The staff was kind, attentive, and it was clear they genuinely care about the animals they treat, which made a difficult moment much easier. Everything was handled professionally, and I felt confident my pet was in good hands while we were there. I also appreciated the support and guidance provided for her care afterward. My fiancé and I have a very tiny 10 week old hedgehog that developed a bad upper respiratory infection and they saw her right away and gave her AMAZING care. She was given so much genuine love and attention from Dr. Randi Johnson and all the nurses working her case. When my golden retriever had an eye emergency, I chose this ER simply based on location and a quick glance at the reviews. From the moment we walked in until the time we left, I was incredibly impressed with the care we received. The entire staff was so gentle and compassionate with my dog, and I was especially impressed by how thorough the exam was. Dr. Kimberlyn W. took the time to clearly explain which tests she recommended and why, and I appreciated being given pricing information before anything was done. At no point did I feel pressured into additional testing or treatment. Ariela and Shannon were also absolutely amazing throughout my dog’s care. Honestly, the best way to describe this place is something one of the assistants said: it’s like “The Avengers” of veterinary medicine. The best of the best all came together to work here. The diagnosis and treatment plan were explained very thoroughly, which I truly valued, and I was sent home with printed information to refer back to as well. During the wait for bloodwork results, someone even came in with a basket of snacks and offered me something to eat or drink…such a thoughtful touch during a stressful situation. I would recommend this place 100%.

I called another emergency vet for advice prior to calling VEG. The other vet’s call was about a minute long, only spoke to the receptionist, and was told to bring her in immediately. When I called VEG, I was connected immediately with Dr. Morgan. We devised a home plan of action to try first. While that course of action didn’t work out, I drove the 30 minutes to VEG, despite other ERs being closer. Once there, Dr. Baxter was very clear from the beginning about this possible being an end of life situation. We tried some IV interventions that weren’t working. He explained why it likely wasn’t working and was clear he could try more lifesaving interventions but cost was factor for me. He was clear in explaining he’s happy to do those higher level interventions but didn’t feel they would prove successful anyway. We made the very difficult decision to end my fur baby’s suffering. The end of life experience was private, ran at my pace, and everyone was so caring and attentive. The nursing staff was attentive and caring and Dr. Baxter showed compassion and emotion throughout the process. Do not go to any other vet ER! Highly recommend even though it was a tragic situation.
