We recently had our sweet Roux hospitalized here at VEG South Loop, and I cannot express enough how grateful we are for everyone here! All the staff were extremely kind, responsive, and trustworthy. The front desk staff were very nice and reliable with communicating with the people in the waiting room and coordinating with those in the back. The nurses were so patient and attentive to Roux while they worked with her, even though they had plenty of patients to juggle. Not only were they very attentive to the animals, but to the owners and families as well. Everyone was very skilled and worked so well with our cat to complete what they needed with her while minimizing her stress and still allowing us to stay right by her side. We really appreciated nurse Rachel, who helped our cat in triage and as she was being admitted. The doctors were incredible as well—Roux was seen by Drs. Cohen and Grossman. Again, I could see that the ER was full of patients to care for whenever I visited, but they were committed to answering all of our questions and explaining what we could expect based on evidence/their experience. Dr. Grossman was with our cat for her last day at the hospital before coming home, and it was so clear how much care and compassion he has for the pets and their families. We were so touched to know that someone so caring was looking after Roux! If you are a pet owner in the area, VEG South Loop is a great place to keep in mind in case you and your pet encounter an emergency.

I am so incredibly grateful to the care team here for saving my 5 year old cat’s life by performing an emergency laparotomy on him after he ingested a linear foreign body. The staff is very competent, communicative, and personable. Special thank you to the surgeon, Dr. Laura Hauser. She is absolutely amazing!!! I highly recommend the staff at this VEG EG after the care they provided my dog, Brady, following an injury he suffered. What started off as a straightforward need for stitches quickly became more serious when Brady experienced several episodes of ventricular tachycardia (vtach) related to a reaction to medications and potentially an underlying heart problem. It was incredibly scary, but the staff responded quickly and professionally, communicated clearly, and did everything they could to keep both Brady and me comfortable throughout the experience. The staff I worked with demonstrated compassion and integrity. I also really appreciated the thoughtful accommodations for pet owners. From comfortable spaces to stay with your pet, to snacks, drinks, and other small touches, it was clear to me that VEG understood emergencies are hard on people, too. Those kinds of details honestly made a meaningful difference during a really stressful evening. When I left Brady overnight for monitoring, I felt a bit nervous (as any owner likely would) but I mostly felt grateful that he was alive and in good hands. The next morning, I received a timely update (as promised), clear discharge instructions, and Brady has since made an excellent recovery! See pictures of him right after surgery vs. today. I cannot recommend VEG ER more if your pet needs urgent care. I know I sound like an ad, but the environment and level of care they provided to both my dog and me from start to finish was truly set apart from any other vet I've used. And I've had some wonderful vets over the years, so I don't say that lightly. :)

We had to come in the middle of the night for my dog’s care. We were instantly greeted by some nice vet technicians, the lady with the southern accent that just moved here in January (sorry I forgot her name!) was assisting us the whole time. She was SO sweet and kind, and definitely made the experience better as sometimes you don’t usually connect with the workers during a visit at all. She seemed like someone I would totally be friends with outside of this emergency visit. We also thought our doctor (Dr. Gunn) was very knowledgeable and always answered any questions I had. The thing that we really appreciate the most is that we were able to stay with our dog the whole time and watch what happened. With other clinics, our dog is taken away from us and we don’t have any updates or anything for hours and we can’t see her as well. This open concept makes us feel more comfortable as pet owners as we want to know the status of our dog! If we need to come back in the future we will definitely go back even though we live in Milwaukie, and recommend this hospital to our friends/family. We were discharged with lots of thorough instructions and we just felt really cared for because our dog means everything to us!

WOW. I cannot say enough great things about this hospital. We were 6 hours away from home when our girl got bit by another dog at a campground. We expected to spend basically the entire night sitting in a waiting room, but we have never been to a VEG hospital… From the moment we walked in, they greeted us at the door and we never had to leave our dog’s side through the whole process. The clinic was SO CLEAN and the staff were absolutely elite. They were friendly, knowledgeable and so patient with us and gentle with our girl. The vet quite literally sat next to us and wrote up a care plan explaining every single step and was so upfront about cost and recovery. We are so grateful for their incredible compassion and top-notch care they gave her. Easily the best experience we have ever had at an ER Vet. We were in and out in less than 3 hours. Huge shoutout to Dr. Forton, Emile, Yorrick & Jenn - you guys are absolute rockstars and turned what could have been a nightmare ordeal into a positive experience. And yes, we will be seeking out other VEGgies 😆 back home in WI.

Our family will be forever grateful to the team at VEG Easton for saving our sweet boy, Charlie. Charlie was diagnosed with severe pancreatitis and became critically ill. There were moments when we truly didn't think he was going to make it. We were devastated, scared, and preparing for the worst. From the moment we arrived, the entire team treated Charlie as if he were their own pet and treated us like family. A special thank you to Kayla, Gavin, Alissa, and Dr. Shay. Their compassion, expertise, patience, and genuine care were beyond anything we could have hoped for. They took the time to explain everything, answer our countless questions, and support us through one of the most difficult experiences we've ever faced. The medical care Charlie received was exceptional, but what made the biggest difference was the time, attention, and love they poured into him. We truly believe that their dedication played a huge role in his recovery. Today, Charlie is back home with us and continuing to improve, and we know we owe that to this incredible team. Thank you for giving us more time with our beloved boy. We will never forget the kindness, compassion, and hope you gave us when we needed it most. ❤️ Charlie's very grateful family 🐾

I walked into VEG ER with my english bulldog practically dead in my arms in a panic. The team here treated my dog (kobe) within seconds on my arrival. The love we felt throughout this entire 24 hours can’t be put into words. From the doctors to the nurses and the entire staff … they treated kobe like he was their very own. Dr Tusa took time to calm us down and explain to us exactly what was happening medically and made it understandable to us!! Eternally grateful that he was there when we came in. A special thank you to Oliver, Rachel, Cecil, Cesar, jasmine, Christine, dr Carl, dr Blake, and many more !! Do not hesitate to bring your dog here 🧡

On July 3rd (after 9pm) our dog was bit by a Coperhead snake. We were on vacation and far from any attention. From the moment we called to inquire, up to our discharge; our pet was immediately taken care of and the circumstances and treatment needs were clearly explained. Dr Sarbry and her team (unfortunately I don’t remember names, I was too distraught) looked after Tody constantly and made sure we were comfortable. They also allowed us to stay by his side. A week later, he is still recovering at home and we are very thankful for all the attention received. They acted fast which was very important to stop the venom effects. Thank you VEG ER at Austin team. We are very appreciative of your care

Mel, Elly, and Marianne were world-class. Such an incredible, caring, and personable team. This is hands down the best vet service I’ve ever experienced. Everyone was completely locked in and genuinely cared about my cat. You can tell this isn’t just a job to them. They were super responsive, compassionate, and always one step ahead. I truly appreciate their care and heart. By the end, they felt like they were my cousins lol. If every vet operated like this, the world would be a better place.

I had to make the hard decision of peacefully euthanizing my baby and could not have asked for a better team to take care of my family. The care and compassion that was shown will always be remembered. Thank you for all that your amazing team does and continues to do, truly the BEST.

While VEG can be very pricey, that's pretty standard for emergency care, and I've found them to be largely accommodating. I wanted to specifically thank the kind vets who evaluated my poor kitty Felix, both when he was ill and at the end of his life. Specifically, the vet who helped FeFe pass on was very compassionate and supportive during one of the hardest days of my life. VEG also offered a quiet, dark room for a private goodbye, which meant a lot to me. I recommend them to all my friends with pets.

When my dog Milo got sick, I was super worried and had to bring him to this emergency vet. When I walked in. I was shocked at how many people were there to help my dog and not only that they were there to help they like actually cared about the dogs in any animal that was coming in. There was so many people that had their hands on Milo within a few minutes of him coming in and All were super helpful. Dr. Ellington was probably the best doctor for Mi He truly loved my dog instantly and was really good at explaining what was going on with him and made me feel safe enough to leave him overnight with them. I could’ve also stayed with him if I wanted to, but I needed to sleep myself so I left him with them and I knew he was in the best care. I’ve never felt so grateful for an emergency that in my life they truly are the best place to go and I hope that if you ever need these services that you would check them out because they were the best that I’ve ever seen every single person there was wonderful and I wish I got all their names but I didn’t. They are fantastic and I highly recommend.

We brought our Chihuahua puppy there Saturday. He had ingested some hydrangeas and moon plants (be careful out there gardeners). I actually really appreciate the open concept as it's a comfort to know there are eyes on our dog and we're not locked away in some room. He ended up needing to be admitted and we were so happy that they let us stay with him the entire time. The entire staff was amazing and you can tell these folks love animals. Special shout out to Dr. Toussaint and to Jake, Angie, Danielle, Kris, Max and Carmel. We were there for 12 hours on my birthday no less. They went above and beyond. 🙏

I can’t say enough good things about the care Charlotte received at VEG. We brought our 13-year-old Boxer in for a urinary issue, and from the moment we arrived, we felt that she was in caring and compassionate hands. Dr. Scott Yorke was absolutely wonderful with her. With an older dog who has been through a lot, it was incredibly reassuring to have a veterinarian who was so kind, gentle, patient, and thorough. He took the time to carefully examine Charlotte, explain what was happening, and make sure she was comfortable throughout the process. The entire experience was handled with professionalism, compassion, and genuine care for Charlotte. When you have an older dog who means the world to you, that kindness makes such a difference. Thank you to Dr. Yorke and the entire VEG team for taking such wonderful care of our girl. We are truly grateful.

I want to thank the staff working overnight last night. We brought my Diesel baby in because he was really struggling. Even though it was 3 am the staff was quick and very compassionate for our situation, all hands were on deck. I’d like to thank Dr. Rocha for explaining things in a good manner and being very patient with my family during this time. Also of course for taking care of Diesel and not sugar coating anything no matter how hard it was to hear. She was very caring. It was a very hard time for us as we had to put my almost 13 year old baby down, but i’m glad it was in the hands of your animal hospital. Thank you for caring for my Diesel when he needed it most. May he rest in paradise🤍

Highly recommend bringing your loved pets here. The care and service towards the pets and their humans was above and beyond. Transparency is a value here as there is no bringing your pet “to the back” - every station is out in the open so you can be with your pet through every procedure and test. The staff has blankets and drinks for the humans to ensure we are also comfortable while waiting for our pets to heal. The demeanor and care from the staff was truly something I’ve never experienced at a vet before - I felt so taken care of and believed my dog was in the best hands possible. I walked in with my dog who had lethargy, loss of appetite, and diarrhea, and there was no wait, and urgency to solve the issue. What we though was an irritated GI tract was actually a flipped stomach, to which the entire team responded to rapidly and brought him into surgery. I was allowed to stay overnight with my dog while he was healing which helped the both of us with our anxiety. I have never witnessed this concept at a veterinary clinic before and I wish i could give 10 stars

This place ROCKS!!! I brought my cat 5050 in for a foxtail in her eye and they did the deed. Reasonable fees. I’ve been doing TNR ferals for 30-ish years. I have to say this place is the nicest I’ve ever been to. And a week later her follow up showed she is 100% good to good. Rocket crew at VEG. I’m so glad I’m a VEGetarian~ 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It has taken me a little bit to write this. This emergency vet, they are kind, compassionate, and empathetic... I am grateful for them and their staff. We live in Casa Grande, there is no ER vet.. VEG was the closest at just over an hr away (due to traffic at the time on the I-10). I called to tell them we were coming with our 91lb German Shepherd who collapsed, had very pale gums and was drooling profusely. They told me to let them know when we arrived and they would come out and carry her in. They did just that. Immediately asked if we wanted resuscitation since she had stopped breathing and had no heartbeat. Said "please know it's not all about money, but I do need to make you aware of the fee for resuscitation" I truly felt it wasn't about money, but they had to let us know.. kept coming to us to give us updates, asked if we needed anything, gave real but compassionate possible outcomes. Eventually found she had fluid in her chest cavity due to a ruptured tumor on her spleen that we were unaware she had. They were so kind, so apologetic.. not one word from their staff sounded insincere. Though our baby girl didn't make it, I saw for myself how much this staff cares. I couldn't have asked for more, except that there was one closer to us. Thank you all for trying to save Senshii, she was loved so very much and thank you for your kindness in every aspect of our visit.

We had an amazing experience at VEG ER Pets. The staff were all amazing and appeared to be very well-organized. And knowledgeable. They went out of their way to make not only my pet but us feel very welcomed and cared for. They were very detailed and informative and involved us in the whole process Which made us feel more at ease with our concerns. They truly care about all the animals that come in, and they give all the animals their individual attention needed. They're warm and friendly and very attentive. I would definitely recommend VEG ER to my friends and family.

Absolutely outstanding service from VEG pleasant hill that words alone cannot describe. Unfortunately our cat ate a hair tie and needed induced vomitting immediately. Upon arrival the team here was extremely quick to assess Kylans situation and take care of him as fast as possible. Even with other situations going on at the time Kylan received the best care possible and the vets were able to get the hair tie out. Because of the situation we were unfortunate enough to not catch the names of the vets that assisted us but they provided us excellent service and went above and beyond to reassure us of the situations and provide a layout of what procedures will/might need to be done. We felt extremely blessed walking out tonight and are extremely grateful for each and everyone of the vets at VEG Pleasant hill. Thank you so much for helping save our kitty!
