I can’t recommend these guys enough. Ive unfortunately been twice now (my dog is a menace, but we love her!) The first time we were treated by Dr. Lingen & Paige as our RN. My dog got a bone stuck around her jaw, lesson learned for me, we are now a no bone house. The second time my dog started limping- turned out it was her patella. At this time we were treated by Dr. Patel & Angie as our RN. Tatiana gave excellent customer service running around to everyone checking in offering my dog toys & the families waiting snacks/drinks. When we came the second time Paige was there again & she had remembered us from the time before. (Not a big deal, but was nice.) Both times we were in and out fairly quickly. The staff was beyond compassionate and thorough. Neither of these times were life or death but they were able to help. I do want to say I was impressed to see a facility with such a great team. Not just for us but for everyone being treated and amongst the staff. The second time there happened to be a dog aggressive dog being treated and another dog/people aggressive dog. They did everything to respect those dogs needs & the safety of others. Also they offer payment plans, which is wonderful. I highly recommend.

Our puppy was having stomach issues (diarrhea & throwing up). Came here and was seen immediately. Everything was clean and great communication between the main vet and this team. Dr. Stevie and our nurse were amazing. Answered all our questions super quickly and comprehensively. She even gave us some preventative tips for long-term care for our pup at home. The nurse told us the facility is open concept, so you’re able to pretty much be next to your pet for almost every procedure, which is so important for keeping them calm in a usually stressful situation. Also, the cost wasn’t too much more compared with going to the normal vet, which was such a pleasant surprise. I highly suggest this capable team for anyone who needs speedy, accurate, and thoughtful care!

We had to come in the middle of the night for my dog’s care. We were instantly greeted by some nice vet technicians, the lady with the southern accent that just moved here in January (sorry I forgot her name!) was assisting us the whole time. She was SO sweet and kind, and definitely made the experience better as sometimes you don’t usually connect with the workers during a visit at all. She seemed like someone I would totally be friends with outside of this emergency visit. We also thought our doctor (Dr. Gunn) was very knowledgeable and always answered any questions I had. The thing that we really appreciate the most is that we were able to stay with our dog the whole time and watch what happened. With other clinics, our dog is taken away from us and we don’t have any updates or anything for hours and we can’t see her as well. This open concept makes us feel more comfortable as pet owners as we want to know the status of our dog! If we need to come back in the future we will definitely go back even though we live in Milwaukie, and recommend this hospital to our friends/family. We were discharged with lots of thorough instructions and we just felt really cared for because our dog means everything to us!

June 25, 2026 THANK YOU VETERINARY EMERGENCY GROUP COSTA MESA We were referred to VEG Costa Mesa during a difficult time when we needed an emergency veterinary hospital that would allow us to stay with our beloved Mini Australian Shepherd, Lacey, during her end-of-life care.We arrived about 1:30 a.m. on June 9 and were immediately greeted by Dr. Nikki Smith and her compassionate ER staff. They took the necessary steps to ensure Lacey’s peaceful passing. We were then able to spend as much time as we needed in a quiet room with Lacey wrapped in a blanket in our arms, giving her our final love and goodbyes. Dr. Nikki Smith and the entire staff were incredibly caring, understanding, and compassionate throughout the entire process. We decided to have Lacey privately cremated. VEG handled the arrangements, and a few days later, we returned to the ER facility to receive a beautiful cedar box engraved with her name. They also provided us with a paw print cast in ceramic and enclosed some of her feathers as a keepsake. The entire experience was nothing short of benevolent. We are so grateful that we found VEG Costa Mesa in our time of need. It was the smaller ER for pets that provided us with the compassionate care and personalized experience that we were looking for. No one ever wants to have to visit the ER with their pet, but we cannot say enough good things about VEG. This was our first (and hopefully only) visit, but they were simply amazing. Our little guy ended up with a treble fishing hook embedded in his lips/mouth/nose. They took us right back when we arrived, pain meds were onboard in less than 15 min and he was sedated about 10 minutes after that. They carefully removed the hook and the barbs, all without one drop of blood. We were in and out of there in about an hour. While we are hoping to never have to go back, we certainly wouldn't hesitate, given the care and attention we received from all the staff.

Everyone was excellent! Dr Juan was very knowledgeable and honest, and he collaborated with me to make sure that I was updated with what was going on and that I got everything done that I wanted to for my pet. The receptionist was super kind and attentive in making sure we were comfortable, checking in with us and bringing us snacks and drinks while we waited. All the nurses that worked with my pet were very empathetic and gentle with her to make sure that she was comfortable and getting the best care possible. I didn't have to wait at all to be brought back to the treatment area - they got started on her right away. My pet is a cat so we waited with her in an enclosed room to the side of the treatment area where she was more comfortable away from the dogs and able to walk about the room freely. We could still see through the blinds though what was going on in the hospital with the other pets that were there being helped and were given the opportunity to come to the treatment area to watch her being cared for.

All the doctors & techs that took care of Harper Jo were Fantastic!!! They took such good care of her & of us. We were seen right as soon as we walked in & they really cared about her!! We can’t say enough GREAT things about this place & all the people that took such great care of our baby girl!!! Thank you so much!! We love you all….

VEG saw my French bulldog for a heat related injury. As soon as we walked in the door we were met with prompt attention to our girl. She was on a treatment immediately despite the fact she was in fairly stable condition. The entire staff was so welcoming, loving and empathetic. Dr. Eisemenn met with us instantly and began the exam right away. Dr. Eisemenn and his team were excellent! Yes, emergency visits are expensive and we were provided an estimate without asking. We really appreciated the upfront transparency. Happy to say our girl is feeling as best as she can and she is recovering nicely at home. We are really grateful to the VEG team because this could have been a worse situation. Thank you!

I can’t say enough great things about the staff at VEG Pet ER on Ralph Ave! When my dog, Dami, arrived, she was in horrible shape, and I was terrified. The team acted immediately with such urgency, professionalism, and compassion. Seeing how quickly they jumped into action gave us confidence that she was exactly where she needed to be. From the moment we walked in, the staff made both Dami and my family feel cared for. They were incredibly attentive, kept us informed every step of the way, and took the time to thoroughly explain her diagnosis and treatment plan. No matter how many questions I had, they answered each one with patience and kindness, never making me feel rushed. What stood out the most was how genuinely they cared, not just for Dami, but for us as well. They continuously checked in to make sure we were all okay and made an incredibly stressful situation much easier to get through. I am beyond grateful to the entire VEG ER team for the exceptional care they provided. Thank you for treating Dami so quickly and with so much compassion. I wholeheartedly recommend VEG ER for Pets to anyone who wants their pet in the best possible hands during an emergency. ****Special shout out to Dami’s beautiful Nurse with the Red hair. We are incredibly thankful for the VEG ER team and the amazing care they gave our Dr. Squiggles! We took Dr. Squiggles in when we noticed he hadn’t been peeing, and we were extra stressed because he’s known for being very feisty at the vet. Squiggles did not hold back from showing the care team his intense spiciness, and yet the doctors handled him with understanding and care. They identified a urinary block and clearly laid out a treatment / care plan for us. We’re sorry he gave the team a tough time (enough to break the ranking scale and warrant a new “Pepper X” designation), but he’s home now and is being a sweet bell pepper boy! We really appreciate VEG ER, and want to especially thank our care team: Dr. Wallach, Carla, Moira, Liz, and Maryan.

VEG did an amazing job saving our boy. He was in boarding while we were out of state and his stomach flipped causing bloating. Our boarding facility got him right over to VEG. They took an x-ray and confirmed. The doctor called me and told me everything she had to do to operate and fix his stomach. They sent us a quote and we paid it online. They performed emergency surgery and took care of him over night until we got back to Michigan. They kept us informed the whole time and sent text messages with updates. When the cost was lower than the quoted amount they also refunded us $700. I couldn’t be more thankful they have a facility close to our boarding facility. A flipped stomach if not caught in time can be fatal to a dog and we are so grateful our fur baby Otis is doing well. Thank you VEG doctors and nurses!

My kitty Zedd was having trouble breathing and we were really worried about him and couldn’t get him in anywhere else so we decided to take him over to VEG to get him some help. The entire experience was absolutely amazing. They got him in as soon as we walked in the door and they got him on Oxygen ASAP and ran through their check up. The vets were incredibly transparent through the entire process and they did not go crazy charging extra money on anything. I really appreciate the extra special care they took and I was right by his side throughout the entire process. I’m so happy we decided to rush him here rather than taking him to the normal vet and potentially having to wait while his breathing got worse. We learned that he has asthma and they went through all the steps with me on how to take care of our baby and make sure he was back to feeling better and breathing easier. Not only could I see the quality care they were giving to my kitty but also all the other animals at the clinic. Highly recommend VEG to anyone else who needs emergency care for their pet and knowing good well that they will do a spectacular job! Thank you so much for making our boy feel more like himself again! :)

My dog was in a total crisis and he almost didn’t make it. I was afraid that I’d have to let him go and tell my children that he passed while they were in school. The Veggies did not give up on him and the turned him around and got him healthy and fit to come home to us. Not only were they attentive and professional, but they were patient and empathetic to our situation. I am truly grateful to have found this team and should we have another emergency, we know exactly who to go to for help

Very satisfied with my cat emergency visit yesterday. My cat was panting and since he is of Persian breed, it was taken very seriously which eased my anxiety. My boy’s vitals were taken immediately and he was put into oxygen right away. I could see my cat in the oxygen tank the whole time and he was already looking so much better just after a few minutes. The vet techs, doctor, and receptionists were so helpful in the whole process. We were constantly getting updates on my baby boy and everything was explained thoroughly. We were always attended to which is huge because so many pet ERs would put you in a room with your pet and you could be forgotten about for hours. This was not the case at VEG! So grateful for this location, the staff, and all their kind and compassionate care. Thank you VEG and Dr. Mir and all the staff working on Sunday morning! Blessings upon blessings to all of you!

Omaha VEG staff go above and beyond for my pets needs and care. Their kindness, compassion and humor during our stays have help manage the stress that comes along with having to bring your pet in for care. VEG will always be the first place we recommend to friends, family and strangers. I love everyone there, they have become like family. Though I hope to never see ya again (; im so grateful you are there when we will inevitably need you (: LOVE- Fern, Frank, Fynn, Flora and Fig!

My newfound little kitten Chanterelle got herself trapped in a tight spot at home late on a Saturday night. She was stuck for a couple hours before I found her. When I discovered her, she was frantically crying and struggling. I got her free and found she had badly injured a rear leg and could not walk on it. I was afraid of how bad her injury might be. I called VEG and described the situation. Samantha was very kind and quickly made a good diagnosis over the phone. I felt they might be well qualified to provide urgent care. Upon arrival, I was taken to the cat room and immediately met with Nurse Ashley. She made a thorough preliminary evaluation. Also, Ashley and Samantha did everything to make sure we were comfortable. Dr. Edwards arrived within minutes. Both the nurse and doctor were very kind, caring and professional. Immediately they performed an ultrasound and then followed up with x-rays. It was their diagnosis that my kitten did not have any broken bones or internal organ damage. Throughout the entire visit, they clearly informed me of the costs of all procedures and made no pressure to perform unnecessary tests, etc. The nurse and doctor were happy to answer my questions and made sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout the visit. Their diagnosis was spot-on and over the next few weeks my kitten fully recovered. I was so happy! And, I was so grateful that the VEG team was there when we needed them. The VEG team are very professional and caring. They clearly love their jobs and love animals. The facilities are also worth noting: everything was spotless and clean, and the equipment was the most modern of any I’ve seen in any veterinary clinic. Thank you for taking good care of us!

We brought our cat Felix in for a bad FLUTD flare. The staff tended to him immediately to check for a blockage and gave excellent care throughout. I really appreciated being able to stay with Felix the whole time, including during the ultrasound. One of the staff even stayed with Felix in the exam room while I took a bathroom break (that was extremely sweet, thank you). The veterinarian talked to me for over 10 minutes to make sure I understood the treatment plan and the vet tech did the same. I will definitely keep VEG in mind for the future.

I cannot say enough about the care and compassion we received at VEG ER for Pets during one of the most difficult moments with my dog, Poet. From the moment we walked in, the entire staff was calm, kind, and incredibly supportive. They acted quickly to stabilize him and kept me informed every step of the way in a way that was clear and easy to understand, even while I was overwhelmed and emotional. I especially want to recognize Jasmine, who went above and beyond. I was extremely distraught after learning Poet had been diagnosed with Addison’s disease and could not stop crying. She took the time to comfort me, explain everything thoroughly, and help me regain a sense of calm. Her compassion felt genuine and grounding during a very frightening experience. Every single person we interacted with showed patience, empathy, and professionalism. They didn’t just treat my dog—they supported me as an owner going through something heartbreaking. They truly made me feel cared for like family. I’m deeply grateful for the entire team at VEG ER for Pets. I would highly recommend them to anyone facing an emergency with their pet.

VEG ER provided incredible care during one of the hardest moments with our dog Milli. From the start, she was treated with urgency, compassion, and expertise. Dr. Hoffman did an amazing job stabilizing her on arrival. Dr. Charity showed true dedication in helping get her strong enough to come home, and Dr. Miller was consistently kind and caring throughout her stay. A special thank you to Brenden, her nurse, who went above and beyond and treated Milli like his own. We’re also deeply grateful to Morgan, who was always attentive and caring despite being pregnant. Thank you as well to the rest of the nursing staff, including Christina, Cassidy, and Dom, along with management and the director for their support. Even during a scheduled power outage, they brought in a generator to ensure her care never stopped. We will forever be grateful—thanks to this team, Milli is home with us. ❤️

Update: More than a week later, he is still doing amazing! He’s back to parkoring with his siblings at 3 am, yelling at us so he can go sunbathe and eating like a horse. THANK YOU AGAIN!! 😭 I cannot put into words how grateful I am for VEG Alpharetta. Last week, our cat Guy Diamond, who is only 2 years old and whom we’ve had since he was about a week old, became extremely sick. What we thought was a stomach issue quickly turned into every pet parent’s worst nightmare. After bloodwork at our regular vet showed he was critical, we were rushed to VEG because they were the only nearby hospital with the medications and level of care he needed. The moment we walked through the doors, they already knew who Guy was. They immediately took him back and started working on him while keeping us informed every step of the way. Within hours, we learned that he had developed a severe kidney infection that had progressed into sepsis. His blood pressure was around 40/20, his kidneys were reaching their limit, and he had virtually no white blood cells. We were told his chances of survival were very low. I was an absolute emotional wreck. What stood out to me wasn’t just the medical care—it was the compassion. The doctor sat on the floor with my 5-year-old daughter and me and walked us through every option with so much patience, honesty, and empathy. They never pressured us. They simply helped us understand what Guy was facing and supported us through impossible decisions. When they told us that euthanasia would be a completely understandable choice given how sick he was, I looked at my daughter and knew I wasn’t ready to give up on him. This cat is her best friend. He’s family. So I gave them my budget and asked them to do everything they could to save him. The team at VEG did something I’ll never forget. They made my daughter and me a bed so we could stay overnight with him. If you ever have the opportunity to stay with your pet during a hospitalization, do it. Throughout that night, I watched these doctors and nurses pour their hearts into every animal that came through those doors. I saw heartbreak. I saw families saying goodbye. I saw pets fighting for their lives. And I saw a veterinary team that never stopped caring, no matter how exhausted they were. It completely changed my perspective on veterinary medicine and why emergency care costs what it does. They do so much more than people realize. I stayed awake with Guy until almost 5 a.m., praying harder than I think I’ve ever prayed in my life. Then the miracle started happening. His blood pressure began improving. His fever started coming down. And then we got the news that made me completely lose it, he was finally making white blood cells again 😭 They even showed them to us on the screen. I cried like a baby. After seeing so many heartbreaking cases come through that hospital, I wanted them to have a win. I wanted my daughter to keep her best buddy. I wanted our little boy to beat the odds. And somehow, he did. He wasn’t out of the woods yet. There was still edema around both kidneys, and we still had a lot to worry about. But every update got a little better. Every hour he fought harder. Less than 24 hours after we were told his chances of survival were slim, Guy came home. Today, just a few days later, he’s eating, drinking, using the litter box, demanding attention, and acting like the same goofy cat we’ve always known. Watching him curled up on the couch again feels like a gift I wasn’t sure we’d get. To every doctor, nurse, technician, and staff member at VEG Alpharetta: thank you. Thank you for treating Guy like he mattered. Thank you for treating us like family. Thank you for your honesty, your compassion, your skill, and your willingness to fight for him when things looked hopeless. Because of you, my kids still has their best friend. And because of you, we still have our Guy Diamond.❤️
