I brought my dog in for a possible obstruction, the team was amazing! The nurse came over along with the doctor and gave him lots of attention while they were examining him. They wanted to take his fasted radiographs and the results came back within an hour. We had to go to surgery and they even let me stand outside the window watching! My boy is doing so well and I can’t thank this place for what they did for him.

Open 24 hour seven days a week even on holidays. The staff is absolutely magnificent and you can be with your dog the entire time. The open floor concept is totally unique and I was blown away by how flexible the team was in terms of coming to my dog and making him feel comfortable. This is a 10 out of 10.

I loved my experience at this ER for pets. Everyone was very kind to my pet budgie Gideon, my family and myself. The communication regarding the treatment and bill was clear. The ER itself was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend for other bird owners that find themselves in an emergency situation.

The staff here is super friendly, the vibe is very chill, and the environment is clean and welcoming. Unfortunately, my pup had diarrhea during an X-ray, and it made quite a mess. I felt terrible and incredibly embarrassed, but the vet and nurses were so understanding and remained completely sweet and patient with us.

This place. Great facility and *amazing* staff. Took great care of our dog Buddy today after he swallowed a piece of corn cob. Every single interaction was a good one, they really display care for pets and humans. I believe thier pricing is also fair, another good plus.

We brought our beloved cat, Miso, to VEG after she was transferred from another veterinary clinic for severe respiratory distress. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the entire team was ready for her. They immediately began treatment, performed diagnostics, and moved with a level of urgency and coordination that gave us confidence during one of the most terrifying nights of our lives. Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, we lost Miso that night due to severe heart failure. While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful to Dr. Mirna Topic and every staff member who cared for Miso and supported us through an unimaginable situation. One thing that stood out was Dr. Topic’s extraordinary compassion and communication. When we were suddenly faced with life-and-death decisions, we were overwhelmed, scared, and struggling to understand a very complex medical situation. Despite how busy she was, Dr. Topic took the time to patiently explain Miso’s condition, the available treatment options, and the pros and cons of each path forward. She used simple, understandable language and made sure we felt informed rather than pressured. That kindness and patience meant more to us than we can adequately express. Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly gentle, compassionate, and thoughtful. It never felt like they were simply treating a patient. They were caring for Miso as an individual and supporting us as a family. I also want to highlight something unique about VEG’s design and philosophy of care. The open-floor treatment area allows you to see exactly what is happening with your pet. You can stay nearby, witness the care they are receiving, and be present during some of their most difficult moments. As heartbreaking as our experience was, there was something deeply comforting about knowing that nothing was happening behind closed doors. We could see how Miso was being treated, what procedures were being performed, and how much compassion the team showed her every step of the way. VEG also provides private comfort rooms where families can spend as much time as they need saying goodbye in a calm, peaceful, and private environment. During one of the hardest moments of our lives, that space gave us the opportunity to properly say goodbye to Miso with dignity and love. They also offer professional aftercare services and guidance, helping families navigate the difficult decisions that come after loss. Another thing we greatly appreciated was their transparency. Before treatments were performed, we received clear estimates and explanations of costs associated with different treatment options. There were no surprises, no pressure, and no hidden fees. In fact, our final bill ended up being noticeably lower than the original estimate and much more reasonable than we expected for emergency and critical care. I sincerely hope we never find ourselves in an emergency like this again. But if we do, I would not hesitate for a second to bring my pet here. I know they would receive the highest level of medical care, compassion, honesty, and respect. To Dr. Mirna Topic and the entire team: thank you for everything you did for Miso. Knowing that she spent her final hours surrounded by people who genuinely cared for her brings us immense comfort. You are truly angels.

My 6 year old cat had a gastro emergency recently, and I took her here for treatment, electing to have her hospitalized. All of the staff were phenomenal, and I couldn't believe that we didn't have to wait long, were provided a private room, and that I was able to stay with my nervous kitty during testing to provide some familiarity and comfort throughout the experience. All of the tests they recommended and questions they asked were instrumental to getting a good understanding of what was going on, and she was able to get on a prescription diet to help her feel better and heal. It's been a week since her hospitalization and she has gone from not eating or moving to eating voraciously and running around like a kitten. So grateful for the awesome folks at this clinic who genuinely cared about the welfare of my cat.

This place ROCKS!!! I brought my cat 5050 in for a foxtail in her eye and they did the deed. Reasonable fees. I’ve been doing TNR ferals for 30-ish years. I have to say this place is the nicest I’ve ever been to. And a week later her follow up showed she is 100% good to good. Rocket crew at VEG. I’m so glad I’m a VEGetarian~ 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The staff was so kind and sympathetic the two times we took our beloved cat in. Both times it was evening. Both times was unexpected for us to hurry out the door to take him there. I found VEG on my phone and saw they were 15 minutes away. From the phone call I made to walking through the door, we felt the care we needed during those two difficult visits. We had to say goodbye to our sweet boy Calusa that second visit and we're grateful for the help we received.

Sadly, I had to rush Robert back to VEG just hours after our first visit because he suffered a severe second wave of anaphylactic shock. To say this team is life-saving is an understatement. They immediately admitted him for a 24 hour overnight stay, monitored his shifting vitals minute-by-minute, and completely pulled him out of danger again. While the entire 24-hour staff was incredible, Dr. Beckwith, Dr. Ritchie, Erin and Carolyn were absolute heroes during the day and overnight shifts. They treated Robert like their own. They gave me total peace of mind during a mentally draining crisis. Carolyn and Dr. Beckwith laid the perfect foundation during the day and the overnight team Dr Ritchie and Erin took exceptional care of him through the night. I’d like to reiterate, the ENTIRE staff was amazing! I just don’t remember everyone’s name! Thank you VEG Mount Pleasant! Thank you all for giving my boy his life back twice in one day!

My dog Ice was taken to the vet by me where I live in CT where an xray showed a possible mass that needed to be scanned via ultrasound. Ultrasound, technicians were not available in my area and so I drove to my home town of Brooklyn after speaking with this facility and finding out that there was a doctor available to conduct the ultrasound. Dr. Cross did an amazing job with the ultrasound and later sat with me to compassionately but realistically give the next steps. The next day, we were able to have the surgery that she needed. I am very grateful to Doctor Cross for his help and to all of the staff there who took us in immediately.

Five stars is not enough for the team at VEG Oak Brook. My cat was in for an asthma attack that escalated her breathing rate. The entire team was incredibly quick, calm, kind, patient, and empathetic. Someone checked up on us frequently (about every 15 minutes, and we were there 6 hours) while she was getting oxygen treatment and X-rays. Furthermore, cost was half of what I paid at another ER a month ago for the same reason. Now that we have an updated treatment plan and know what works for her condition, I am confident we will not have a flare up like this again. BUT, if we ever need assistance again, we’ll definitely be back. Thank you, to all those that helped my baby girl and were so supportive for me as well. Sagan is feeling much better and breathing at the normal rate. ❤️

VEG ER was amazing in helping me when I brought in 5 two day old kittens, one of which needed surgery—an amputation. Dr. Sullivan, Theresa, and Trey were the dream team, expertly navigating this surgery on such a tiny, two day old kitten body. We’re calling him Hercules, and he and his sibling are thriving because of their quick, quality care! Thank you so much 🙏

Dr. Emily Rue and her team of techs are truly extraordinary. Having been to other emergency hospitals in the past, I have yet to come across such a caring and dedicated team as VEG. They showed extraordinary care for both my girl Millie and myself. They went out of their way to help us and I cannot recommend their services more. The experience itself was great - being able to be by my girl’s side throughout her treatment meant the world to us. They even had a sofa bed that we were able to sleep on together while we awaited her results. All in all, I cannot recommend the team and the facility itself more. I will not go anywhere else for emergency care in the future.

Update: More than a week later, he is still doing amazing! He’s back to parkoring with his siblings at 3 am, yelling at us so he can go sunbathe and eating like a horse. THANK YOU AGAIN!! 😭 I cannot put into words how grateful I am for VEG Alpharetta. Last week, our cat Guy Diamond, who is only 2 years old and whom we’ve had since he was about a week old, became extremely sick. What we thought was a stomach issue quickly turned into every pet parent’s worst nightmare. After bloodwork at our regular vet showed he was critical, we were rushed to VEG because they were the only nearby hospital with the medications and level of care he needed. The moment we walked through the doors, they already knew who Guy was. They immediately took him back and started working on him while keeping us informed every step of the way. Within hours, we learned that he had developed a severe kidney infection that had progressed into sepsis. His blood pressure was around 40/20, his kidneys were reaching their limit, and he had virtually no white blood cells. We were told his chances of survival were very low. I was an absolute emotional wreck. What stood out to me wasn’t just the medical care—it was the compassion. The doctor sat on the floor with my 5-year-old daughter and me and walked us through every option with so much patience, honesty, and empathy. They never pressured us. They simply helped us understand what Guy was facing and supported us through impossible decisions. When they told us that euthanasia would be a completely understandable choice given how sick he was, I looked at my daughter and knew I wasn’t ready to give up on him. This cat is her best friend. He’s family. So I gave them my budget and asked them to do everything they could to save him. The team at VEG did something I’ll never forget. They made my daughter and me a bed so we could stay overnight with him. If you ever have the opportunity to stay with your pet during a hospitalization, do it. Throughout that night, I watched these doctors and nurses pour their hearts into every animal that came through those doors. I saw heartbreak. I saw families saying goodbye. I saw pets fighting for their lives. And I saw a veterinary team that never stopped caring, no matter how exhausted they were. It completely changed my perspective on veterinary medicine and why emergency care costs what it does. They do so much more than people realize. I stayed awake with Guy until almost 5 a.m., praying harder than I think I’ve ever prayed in my life. Then the miracle started happening. His blood pressure began improving. His fever started coming down. And then we got the news that made me completely lose it, he was finally making white blood cells again 😭 They even showed them to us on the screen. I cried like a baby. After seeing so many heartbreaking cases come through that hospital, I wanted them to have a win. I wanted my daughter to keep her best buddy. I wanted our little boy to beat the odds. And somehow, he did. He wasn’t out of the woods yet. There was still edema around both kidneys, and we still had a lot to worry about. But every update got a little better. Every hour he fought harder. Less than 24 hours after we were told his chances of survival were slim, Guy came home. Today, just a few days later, he’s eating, drinking, using the litter box, demanding attention, and acting like the same goofy cat we’ve always known. Watching him curled up on the couch again feels like a gift I wasn’t sure we’d get. To every doctor, nurse, technician, and staff member at VEG Alpharetta: thank you. Thank you for treating Guy like he mattered. Thank you for treating us like family. Thank you for your honesty, your compassion, your skill, and your willingness to fight for him when things looked hopeless. Because of you, my kids still has their best friend. And because of you, we still have our Guy Diamond.❤️

No words can even express the gratitude we have for this clinic. We had to do the unimaginable euthanization of our very loved doggo Medusa. The staff were so gentle with our baby and were very comforting to us in this very hard time. The staff was super quick upon arrival and very honest and up front from the very beginning. My kitty Zedd was having trouble breathing and we were really worried about him and couldn’t get him in anywhere else so we decided to take him over to VEG to get him some help. The entire experience was absolutely amazing. They got him in as soon as we walked in the door and they got him on Oxygen ASAP and ran through their check up. The vets were incredibly transparent through the entire process and they did not go crazy charging extra money on anything. I really appreciate the extra special care they took and I was right by his side throughout the entire process. I’m so happy we decided to rush him here rather than taking him to the normal vet and potentially having to wait while his breathing got worse. We learned that he has asthma and they went through all the steps with me on how to take care of our baby and make sure he was back to feeling better and breathing easier. Not only could I see the quality care they were giving to my kitty but also all the other animals at the clinic. Highly recommend VEG to anyone else who needs emergency care for their pet and knowing good well that they will do a spectacular job! Thank you so much for making our boy feel more like himself again! :)

I felt more compassion in this room than I have when I go an actual ER for humans. That is a quality we need back at all levels of humanity. This group of people should be proud of what they do not just for the animals but for the humans too. They were often showing empathy for the situation more than the owners could appreciate. I can’t say enough. I am grateful for them all

I had a really good experience here with my cat, Beau. As a college student on a budget, I really appreciated how understanding they were and how they helped get him the treatment he needed at a price I could afford. They were kind, patient, and never made me feel judged, even when I was second-guessing myself and worried about Beau. They were very gentle with him, and multiple staff members came in throughout the visit just to check on him and love on him. You could tell he already felt better just from all the love and attention he was getting. I’m so thankful for the care they gave Beau and how supported they made me feel during a stressful time. A special thank you to the nurse with the blonde curly hair and the male doctor, they were both wonderful.

Saving grace! This facility and the angels 😇 working there are hands down the best. The open environment where you are with your pet and around the staff the entire time is perfect and eases stress. Dr.Rushing is great but seriously the entire team is top notch! I can't believe they have so many people under 1 roof that are so compassionate, patient, knowledgeable, empathetic, loving, calm, full of heart, hard working, personable, humorous, driven, and all the other stuff that makes you love a group of humans after 1 visit. Thank you all so much for taking care of us and our beautiful girl Aurora last night. I hope I don't ever need to but I'd drive 2 hours to see you again if needed. One last thing..... I want to apologize for Aurora's dirty looks and especially to the doctor that got completely shut down and rejected for trying to read her a Harry Potter book. Lol she really prefers you sing her made up songs about how much you love her and how beautiful she is. Lol A big thank you from Princess Aurora and her servants

The folks at VEG are awesome. My little kitty had a heart murmur that turned into a blood clot. When it happened i was freaking out. I called my regular vet and they told me to get to VEG immediately. I grabbed the cat carrier and little Eddy G amd we were off to the races. I averaged about 95 on my way down trying to avoid traffic and be present with my kitty. When i whipped into the parking lot I screeched the tires, ran to tje other door to get him out and the folks at VEG were there with the door open waiting for me. As i walked through the door they went to work and it was impressive to watch- like a TV show. It turns out that his heart had already stopped so we decided to stop the CPR. I lost it. My baby boy was gone but the folks at VEG let me be with him in a private room for as long as i needed. They also handled all of the after are and cremation and didnt rush me at all. The entire time they were all very kind and compassionate. The end result wasnt what we hoped for but i know that he got tje best treatment possible and if something could have been done - it would have been. So grateful for the staff here helping is through a very difficult time. I would highly recommend them for any pet related emergencies.

Our dog needed care for an infected, newly discovered wound late Saturday night. We were greeted by kind staff who directed us to an open bay with a comfortable place for me to sit and a dog bed for my pet. I wasn’t used to the open vet setting where we could hear most conversations with owners there and see most interactions. But it was comforting to know other worried pets & parents were treated so well. I was informed of everything about my dog’s condition and given time to ask questions. An estimate was texted to me. I didn’t have to leave my dog when he was taken to a procedure table in center of the facility and in view of all. He was given adequate sedation during the procedure and sent home with pain meds snd antibiotics. I regret I can’t recall names of the 2 kind, knowledgeable vets working with us. But the awesome staff were Gabbie and Nancy. I have a healing broken bone and Nancy even got my dog in the car for me. Hopefully we never need another emergency vet visit- but if we do, we will definitely come to VET.

I brought my dog into the ER and was fortunate to meet Dr. Roberts, who compassionately guided us through a difficult time. She examined my dog and inquired about her condition, showcasing extraordinary care and empathy. Dr. Roberts exceptional kindness and dedication surpassed any veterinarian I've encountered. Erin, Dr. Roberts assistant was equally impressive, offering kindness and support. Together, they made a heart-wrenching decision more manageable with their compassion. Though I had to bid farewell to my beloved pet, their kindness eased the process, helping me find solace in a difficult moment. She was born with the heart, knowing she will capture everyone's heart she met.

We had an emergency situation with our cat on a weekend so we took him into VEG ER and worked with Dr. Crystal. She was amazing- super helpful, supportive and engaged. Our cat received a variety of services while there and was treated like one of their own. The staff also shared records in a timely manner with our regular vet which was helpful for ongoing care. I highly recommend VEG ER!

brought my dog Nala into VEG during one of the scariest nights I’ve ever had with her. She was extremely congested, struggling to breathe, and her little body was working so hard just to oxygenate properly. It was a full emotional roller coaster — trying to stay calm, trying to understand what was happening, trying to process the cost, the options, the medications, the X-rays, and the fear of not knowing what was causing it. Dr. McKinney was Nala’s main doctor, and Susan and Sam were the main techs caring for her. I was genuinely so impressed by them. You can tell when people are just “doing a job” versus when they are deeply passionate and extremely knowledgeable as this team was. They were thorough, calm, sharp, compassionate, and incredibly present. What stood out most was how much they kept me updated. I never felt like Nala was taken away and I was left in the dark. They explained what they were doing, what they were watching, what they were concerned about, and what the next steps were. They were watching every detail, and that gave me so much comfort during a terrifying situation. Also, VEG is truly like a regular ER. There is a lot happening in there, scared families, sick animals, emergencies coming in, people making hard decisions. It was honestly beautiful to see them in action. Very organized, very attentive, very human. Emergency vet care is never easy emotionally or financially, but I left feeling deeply grateful that Nala was in such capable hands. I feel lucky to have this team available in such a scary time. If you are wondering whether this place is okay: hands down, the best. Thank you Dr. McKinney, Susan, Sam, and the entire VEG team for taking such good care of Nala and for everything you do.

As the guardian of an extremely fearful dog who can experience severe fear, anxiety, and stress at the vet, I was genuinely blown away by the care we received at VEG. My dog’s body language was not only noticed, but deeply respected, and the team worked collaboratively to help him feel safe enough for handling and diagnostics using a compassionate, low-stress approach. The care extended to me as well with snacks, drinks, blankets, reassurance, clear communication during shift changes, and constant check-ins during an incredibly stressful experience. Potato recovered beautifully post-op, his incision looks amazing, and he came home clean, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. The open-concept environment fostered such a strong sense of collaboration, transparency, and community. You can feel how much VEG values continuing education, teamwork, and both human and animal emotional wellbeing. I left feeling incredibly grateful and hopeful for the future of the community at large.

Best experience ever. No one was ogling me. They allowed me to make my decision and were very transparent along the way. They explained everything that they were doing to my puppy and the next steps. Very very satisfied and will recommend. Obviously is an emergency hospital so prices are what are usually charged in ER. I thought the prize was reasonable and I got a refund for services not rendered go figure an honest place . Great staff from the front desk to the doctors and nurses. Highly recommend .

I just wanted to say thank you. It’s been almost a month now since i brought Harvey into VEG. I work 7 days a week and i use to end everyday by watching a movie with him, in fact the last movie I watched with him was G-force. One day he felt different so i took him in straight after work at 10 at night and VEG were the only ones open. I stood watching Harvey in his incubator, watching my baby get old and all i could feel was everything. Everyone at VEG was so kind for a moment that felt like the world to me. I spend most of my days not crying, actually, but for Harvey it was the first time he ever broke my heart. A week later when they handed me him in a box he was just as small as the day I got him. VEG and all their staff showed compassion the whole way. They weren’t with Harvey his whole life like I was, but they treated him like he had more of it. Weeks later they were kind enough to send a letter, as everyone else in my life forgot that he meant everything to me, VEG was the only one to say anything at all. Take your pets here if you need help, they did the best they could. Harvey was taken care of in his last moments, and he lived longer than i ever thought my he would if im being honest. I hope we can all outlive our expectations and then go quietly with those who love us. Thank you to all your staff.

Wonderful experience! We brought our Samson in with an ear issue that had gotten to the point we didn't think he'd be able to sleep and likely couldn't get into our primary vet until after the weekend. What can I say? The veterinary staff at VEG are simply outstanding in every way. My mother brought our little dog, Gia, because she had several epileptic seizures one after another. From the moment my mom arrived, the entire staff immediately focused on Gia. They took her from my mother’s arms and rushed her inside so they could stabilize her properly. They kept her hospitalized overnight, and whenever we called, they always provided us with updates on Gia’s condition and progress. Honestly, if it hadn’t been for them, Gia might not be alive today. Excellent veterinary team! 💓 They are people who truly love animals and are dedicated to their work. Their compassion, professionalism, and commitment made all the difference for our family. We are forever grateful. 🐾💖

Our old boy Squatty lived a long, but hard life. He happily shared his last three years with us with such love and loyalty. Saying goodbye to him was hard, but the kind and caring staff were with us through it all. They involved us in every step taken in Squatty’s comfort and passing. The team at VEG ER are beyond amazing! They truly love their work and truly care for our pet-kiddos. Thank you so much for your help in such a trying time. We left there feeling lifted by compassion and the peacefulness of our boy. 🐕💙 Godspeed, Squatty!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this veterinary emergency clinic. From the moment we arrived, the staff was quick, attentive, compassionate, and incredibly professional. They took the time to listen to our concerns, thoroughly assess our dog and keep us informed every step of the way. The entire team was caring and efficient, which made a stressful situation so much easier to handle. It was clear that everyone genuinely cared about both our dog and our family. The level of service, kindness, and expertise we received was truly outstanding. We are so grateful for the amazing care they provided and would highly recommend this clinic to anyone in need of emergency veterinary care.

The team at VEG worked diligently for hours on our Golden Fitzgerald (Fitzy) after he had been attacked. My husband rushed our beloved boy in during the middle of the night while I was several plane rides away from home away at work. The team was transparent, open, and never sugarcoated anything (which I greatly appreciate) which made it very easy to know I needed to get back to Illinois. Fitzy spent 3 days as an inpatient with VEG. As a trauma/flight nurse of 20 years myself; I couldn’t have been more amazed at the work this team did. If you are in need of a highly skilled, experienced, talented, empathetic, well trained team that has unlimited resources at their fingertips for your pet… this is where you want them to be. I knew Fitz was in the best of hands. We couldn’t be more happy with all the care Fitz and our family received from VEG! We want to truly thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for saving our boy Fitzy. No words could express the gratitude we have for everything you did for him, I was blown away by all the services you were able to provide for him. I truly know had he been taken anywhere else: he wouldn’t be here today. I never knew what it felt like to say “thank you just isn’t enough” … We wish we could properly express our gratitude for your quick and lifesaving actions. Forever grateful, The Bossio Family

VEG is a very caring and supportive emergency animal hospital. Our very elderly kitty was seen within minutes of our arrival. The staff were all pleasant and caring. Despite its being busy with multiple animals in distress, everyone was efficiently involved in taking care of these pets - and everyone seemed happy to be working there. The teamwork was impressive - particularly given the nature of this work. Our own kitty - who never hisses - hissed throughout the visit. Nonetheless, the VEG team tried to soothe her and get done what was needed quite effectively. While no one wants to bring our pets to an ER, VEG was quite impressive. Thank you to all!

From the moment we walked in until the moment we left we were treated with the best care. The staff was kind, compassionate, and patient with us the ENTIRE time. We unfortunately had to make the choice to put our 10 year old rabbit down. Dr. Sweetwood provided the best care and allowed us to spend as much time we needed with our sweet boy. She even found us some apple and strawberries to feed him before saying good bye as we didnt get the chance to spoil him before arriving. We were not rushed at all to make the decision or to complete the procedure. It was all on our own timeline so we got to spend as much time as we could with our bunny. So thank you thank you thank you to the entire staff for making one of the most difficult days a bit easier with your compassionate and wholesome care.

I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for the doctors and staff at VEG. This is the second time we’ve been there, and they were so wonderful and supportive when we had to say goodbye to our boy, Duke. Today, our Lexi gave us a little scare and we had to bring her in, and once again, everyone was incredibly kind, compassionate, and supportive. We were lucky enough to have Dr Hannah Lindsay work with us both times we visited, and I truly can’t say enough about how kind and wonderful she is. In some of our most stressful and heartbreaking moments, she made us feel cared for and supported, and we are so grateful for her and the entire VEG team. ❤️🐾
