EMERGENCY VETS AND URGENT CARE IN Rogers, AR
welcome to VEG Rogers!

Dr. Edward Mika
Medical Director
Kansas State University
Dr. Mika’s path into veterinary medicine began in Stilwell, Kansas, where growing up on a family farm sparked his lifelong passion for working with animals. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree in animal science in 1988, followed by his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1992.
After graduating, he began his career at a mixed-animal practice in Watertown, South Dakota—an experience reminiscent of the classic rural veterinary stories that first inspired him. In 1993, he relocated to Greeley, Colorado, where he joined a large animal veterinary service and spent the next decade working extensively with dairy and beef cattle, as well as horses and small ruminants. In 2000, Dr. Mika co-founded an emergency vet hospital in Greeley. The practice expanded to additional locations in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 2003 and Grand Junction, Colorado, in 2004. Over more than two decades, he has contributed in leadership and clinical roles while also mentoring interns within the organization. His professional interests include all things emergency with special interests in surgery, endoscopy, and ultrasound.
Dr. Mika is excited about joining VEG for its one of a kind customer experience, owners can stay with their pet, talk directly to the doctors, and participate in the treatment process.
