Dr. Jaclyn Jacobson earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing her clinical year at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She also holds a Master of Science in Biology with a focus in infectious disease from NYU. After vet school, she completed a rotating internship in Brooklyn, followed by part of an Emergency and Critical Care Residency at the University of Florida, Gainesville.
Her early career included several years as an Emergency Veterinarian at VEG Williamsburg in Brooklyn, where she led fast-paced emergency shifts, trained new doctors, and performed advanced procedures. Before veterinary medicine, she worked in cardiovascular research at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation in New York City and was an adjunct professor at NYU.
What drew Dr. Jacobson to VEG was its open-concept ER and patient-first approach. She especially values being able to “find a way to say yes” for families while delivering compassionate, high-quality vet care. As Medical Director, she is also deeply committed to maintaining and advancing medical quality within her hospital.
Dr. Jacobson has six cats, a Maltese-Shih Tzu, and a talkative Indian Ringneck parrot!
