I took my Pomeranian, Lovey to the Maple Grove VEG ER because she was struggling to breathe. Dr. Geoff immediately triaged her and put her in an oxygen box to help her breathe. After getting her oxygen back up to a "safe level," he proceeded to remove 100ml of fluid that filled her chest cavity, surrounding her lungs and suffocating her. Dr. Geoff saved her life! All of the staff there were SO wonderful- so kind and caring! They helped me through one of the worst days of my life. And NOT ONCE did they ask me to calm down, or to step back or to leave her side (no matter how much of a bawling mess I was.) THAT WAS BY FAR THE BEST PART- YOUR PET IS LITERALLY WITH YOU THE ENTIRE TIME! THEY NEVER LEAVE YOUR SIDE (unless they need an x-ray.) NOWHERE else lets you do that! THANK YOU SO MUCH DR. GEOFF & VEG ER MAPLE GROVE!!!

I had to bring my dog to the VEG ER, because of a stroke my vet had missed. Even though it was too late and she could not be saved, VEG ER tried all they could to save her. They took her from our arms the moment we stepped in the door. We were treated kindly from everyone at this facility. She was never left alone, a nurse was by her side the entire time. They were honest about her condition, but never rushed us to make a decision. Dr. Swartzel was phenomenal, he even sat on the floor next to me when letting me know how she was doing and discussing our options. I felt like they respected us and were empathetic about the entire situation. They made the euthanasia process easier, the room was cozy and we were able to sit with our baby as long as we needed. I would 100% recommend this ER.

Our first pet ER visit was to VEG at 2am on a Sunday. We had called ahead of time to get advice as it was over an hour drive and the staff was friendly and made our check in experience easier by sending us paperwork to fill out before we arrived. Our dog Charlie had a sudden onset allergic reaction where his eye was swollen shut and his muzzle and throat were also swelling. We did not know what to expect, but the team was wonderful when we arrived. Everyone was calm, kind, and attentive. Dr. Mike was so compassionate to our dog and spent our visit on the floor to be at his level. They were able to alleviate our immediate symptoms and concerns so Charlie could go home safely until we could see his regular veterinarian. Charlie is feeling much better! We appreciate the kind care we received from the entire staff.
