Dr. Cannizzo is a California native who is excited to continue her veterinary career in Folsom at VEG. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and completed her small animal rotating internship at Texas A&M University. After her internship, she practiced as an emergency veterinarian in multi-specialty hospitals in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area prior to coming to VEG. She is thrilled to be a part of the VEG team and is excited to bring patient- and customer-focused vet care to the Folsom area.
Dr. Cannizzo loves that VEG allows people and their pets to stay together when they are in an emergency and has seen the huge difference it makes in patient experience and the quality of care. Dr. Cannizzo enjoys treating a wide variety of different emergency cases and has a particular interest in sepsis, spontaneous hemoabdomen cases, heat stroke, respiratory emergencies and critical care. Outside the hospital, she can be found on the trails running, backpacking, camping, paddleboarding, and spending time with her husband and golden retriever.
