brought my dog Nala into VEG during one of the scariest nights I’ve ever had with her. She was extremely congested, struggling to breathe, and her little body was working so hard just to oxygenate properly. It was a full emotional roller coaster — trying to stay calm, trying to understand what was happening, trying to process the cost, the options, the medications, the X-rays, and the fear of not knowing what was causing it. Dr. McKinney was Nala’s main doctor, and Susan and Sam were the main techs caring for her. I was genuinely so impressed by them. You can tell when people are just “doing a job” versus when they are deeply passionate and extremely knowledgeable as this team was. They were thorough, calm, sharp, compassionate, and incredibly present. What stood out most was how much they kept me updated. I never felt like Nala was taken away and I was left in the dark. They explained what they were doing, what they were watching, what they were concerned about, and what the next steps were. They were watching every detail, and that gave me so much comfort during a terrifying situation. Also, VEG is truly like a regular ER. There is a lot happening in there, scared families, sick animals, emergencies coming in, people making hard decisions. It was honestly beautiful to see them in action. Very organized, very attentive, very human. Emergency vet care is never easy emotionally or financially, but I left feeling deeply grateful that Nala was in such capable hands. I feel lucky to have this team available in such a scary time. If you are wondering whether this place is okay: hands down, the best. Thank you Dr. McKinney, Susan, Sam, and the entire VEG team for taking such good care of Nala and for everything you do.

Our experience at VEG-Chantilly far exceeded our expectations. The staff was extremely attentive from the moment we arrived, meeting us at the door and completing an immediate triage. The large, open, shared room was surprising, instead of the usual individual 'hidden' exam rooms. We observed all pets being given floor pads or blankets for comfort, and everything was cleaned immediately after clients left. It was comforting to see staff interacting with every pet as though it were their own, giving lots of love and making owners comfortable as well. Diagnostic bloodwork was done onsite, with very fast results. Dr. Samantha Storey treated our dog for seizures, sharing her first-hand experience with the condition, and she instilled confidence that the chosen treatment plan would allow our young dog to live a happy life. Our visit to VEG-Chantilly was stellar.

I genuinely cannot say enough good things about this facility and their staff. My kitten developed a corneal ulcer and needed treatment quickly. I was panicked, as he needed help immediately but we have been financially struggling and needed to find a clinic that accepted payment plans. Not only does this clinic accept 3 different payment plans options, I realized once I arrived this was a fear-free, open concept facility. I looked around and could see all of their patients and families being treated together right in front of my eyes. The overall visit took 2 hours - as my cat’s corneal ulcer was urgent, but they took in many more severe emergencies. Staff continued to check in on us and offered snacks, drinks and showed me to the bathroom. I was texted a treatment plan and a cost estimate by the vet that I could understand thoroughly. The overall cost - roughly $765 - was entirely reasonable considering the level of care and expertise provided - and my cat was sent home with additional medications and care instructions to ensure a smooth recovery. This place is truly a gem - and I would come here again and again! Hopefully I’ll never have to - but if I do, I know where I’m heading.
