Dr. Christopher Trott

Dr. Christopher Trott

Medical Director

Loyola Marymount University; Colorado State University

Dr. Trott grew up in Southern California. After attending colleges out of state, he came back to San Diego to complete a rotating internship at a veterinary specialty hospital. As an emergency vet, Dr. Trott was intrigued by the new way of practicing ER medicine that was happening at VEG veterinary emergency hospitals. He especially appreciated the openness of the company, being able to allow clients to be involved in the treatment of their pets, and the ease of communication when people and their pets are kept together.

VEG is skilled to handle emergency care for avians, reptiles, and all types of exotic pets.

DO I HAVE TO CALL BEFORE COMING IN?

Took my standard poodle in for what turned out to be a foxtail not only in the ear he complained about but also in the other ear! Thank goodness the vet checked both ears. I was able to stay with him the whole time. Dr. Reinhart was so kind and explained everything. Her assistant Jessica was so focused on my dog that she was like his personal attendant. I was able to stay with him the whole time and it was an amazing experience. Less stress for me as well as the dog. This is my number one pet emergency place from now on. The photo is post foxtail extraction, recovering from mild sedation.

If you have an emergency and are panicked about your pet, this is the place to go. The entire team was kind, efficient, and communicative— This was not my first pet ER visit, but as a new SD resident, I can honestly say it was the best one. They cared for my dog like she was their own…they obviously love their jobs!

Big thanks to Dr. Chuck and his team. My dog Della ingested a needle and the first vet told us the only option was surgery. We came here because they told us over the phone they could also do endoscopy. After they reviewed the x-ray, the doctor recommended to induce vomiting and my dog got the needle out. During this whole time, vet technicians were on the floor with our dog to ensure she was comfortable, they were kind and attentive. They also allowed my other dog to come inside and offer comfort to her sister. This was the best outcome possible and we did not even need the surgery or anesthesia for the endoscopy. I am forever grateful!
