VEG Emergency Vet in Oceanside, California

My cat got attacked by a coyote last night. The staff at VEG took her in minutes after I placed the call. They were professional, calm and empathetic, along with patient with my frantic behavior. They saved my little girls life. I will never forget this and owe them so much for caring for her. Thank you guys for making a devastating memory in our lives, another chance of life for Tootsie. Thank you just doesn’t do justice. A coffee maybe?? Haha. You guys are my hero.

From my initial phone call regarding my pet Coral’s labor difficulties, to arriving at the actual clinic, my questions were addressed promptly, and immediate care was given upon arrival. The team was engaging, friendly, and sympathetic to my pets health needs. They quickly assessed what needed to be done, and started treatment within minutes. I was at the clinic for almost 7 hours with my pet for care, and during that time many procedures were done to save her and her puppies lives. I knew my Coral was in good hands the whole time. I was treated like a friend and made to feel extremely comfortable with the plan of care and the actual treatments administered. Since I had a lengthy stay, the staff offered me snacks and beverages as well as even offering to make the sofa in our exam room into a bed. They knew I hadn’t slept for over 24 hours caring for my pet…We were both exhausted! They wanted to make sure my wellbeing as well as my pets was addressed while in their care. During our lengthy stay, many team members helped my baby girl and her puppies. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience from an emergency vet during a very tragic and emotional time. I will be forever grateful for the care and life-saving procedures they did for my baby girl and her puppies. Everyone at the clinic went above and beyond for us, and you could really tell they loved what they do, as well as their clients. Every minute of my pets visit I felt reassured that the team was invested in her care and saving her life.

When my dog Cashew suddenly fell ill with vomiting, bloody diarrhea, and lethargy, I was overwhelmed and scared—but bringing him to VEG Oceanside was the best decision I could’ve made. From the moment we walked in, the staff was compassionate, responsive, and genuinely focused on his well-being. Dr. Emma Smith was amazing with Cashew. She explained everything clearly, offered thoughtful guidance, and helped me prioritize what was truly necessary without pushing unnecessary costs. I felt supported every step of the way. All vets are expensive, but VEG is fair and comparable to other emergency clinics. Having pet insurance also gave me peace of mind during such a stressful situation. I was there for a long period of time, but given the circumstances, other patients, and the nature of an emergency room, the staff still checked in with me frequently and made sure I felt informed and cared for throughout the wait. Thanks to their expertise and care, Cashew is now on the mend. I’m so thankful to the entire team at VEG Oceanside for their kindness and professionalism during a really tough time.
