VEG Emergency Vet in Oceanside, California

I brought our baby in for aftercare at midnight on the 13th of may. The staff were very understanding, and helpful throughout the entire process. They cleaned my baby one last time and let me say goodbye. That yall so much! They also assisted in setting up the cremation, and giving support for that as well. This vet office is one of the best that I have seen! Thank yall so much! And thank you for helping me lay my baby to rest! ♥️

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Dr Boiskin and VEG. From the moment we walked in we were treated with care and compassion. My dog had severe diarrhea and was lethargic and very sick. They did a thorough work up and the appropriate tests, and while that was all expensive, we didn’t feel they were doing more than what was needed to diagnose and treat. In addition, they followed up with us every day, asking if we had questions and making more suggestions, until our pup was back to normal. Highly recommend!

10 OUT OF 5 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group) – Oceanside / Encinitas area I don’t even know how to properly put into words what VEG did for me and my dog, Curly — but I’m going to try, because they deserve to be recognized for the kind of care that restores your faith in people. We came in during an absolute nightmare. Curly was in severe distress and we were terrified. VEG was extremely busy (holiday-level busy), yet they still made time and space for us immediately. Every single staff member was moving nonstop — caring for multiple pets — but somehow Curly never became “just another case.” They treated him like he was family. From the moment we arrived, they worked diligently and urgently to do everything possible to save his life. They placed an IV, started fluids, monitored him closely, and responded to his changes with speed and focus. They kept him as comfortable as they could while giving him multiple seizure-control medications and supportive care, adjusting as needed to try and stabilize him. You could feel that they were fighting for him — not going through motions. What I will never forget is the humanity. The compassion. The way they spoke to me when I was breaking down. They were polite, respectful, patient, and deeply kind. They explained what was happening in a way I could understand without ever being cold or dismissive. They made me feel seen. And when it became clear that Curly would not have any true quality of life and that keeping him alive would only prolong his suffering, they gently told me the truth — with care, with dignity, and with love. They didn’t push. They didn’t rush. They gave me space to process the impossible. When it was time, they stayed with him and with me. They made sure Curly was not afraid. They made sure he was comfortable. They treated his passing like it mattered — because it did. I’m devastated by the loss of my dog. But I am also grateful beyond words that VEG was there in our darkest hours. Curly is with God now, and I truly believe he left this world with dignity because of the way VEG handled every single moment. If you are reading this and you’re scared, and you don’t know where to go in an emergency — go to VEG. This is a team of loving animal protectors. They don’t just treat pets. They care for families.
