VEG Emergency Vet in Larkspur, California

Everyone I encountered were fantastic. From the initial contact with the front desk to getting my prescription filled before leave. Special mention to Shawndell, who identified and removed the foxtail from Ted’s paw. Great work. Dr Anderson get praise also for her overall evaluation of Ted and also removing a piece of foxtail from his ear!

I cannot say enough amazing things about the team at VEG in Larkspur. At 3am, after calling multiple emergency vets throughout San Francisco and the greater Bay Area and being told there were no surgeons available, VEG stepped in and saved my dog’s life. Finn was in an extremely scary situation, and from the second we walked through the doors, the entire team treated him like their own. Dr. Donner and her surgical team were incredible — calm, confident, compassionate, and transparent through every step of an emergency surgery. After surgery, Dr. Walker and her team provided outstanding post-op care and monitoring. They kept me constantly updated, answered every question with patience and empathy, and made one of the most stressful nights of my life feel manageable. You can truly tell that every single person there deeply cares about both the animals and the families attached to them. Thank you, Dr. Donner, Dr. Walker, and the entire VEG staff for everything you did for Finn. We will never forget it.

First off…VEG is literally the best veterinarian I have ever been to. It takes a lot for me to say that from my heart because over the past nine years we have been to over 20 veterinarians with our 3 dogs (and now 4 cats) and none of them were like VEG. Unfortunately, my Chihuahua Lola had a horrible gastritis flareup with extreme vomiting and bloody stools and started getting very lethargic and so I knew I had to bring her in. I was emotionally drained because financially we are going through a very hard time so I gave them a call and explained what was going on and they said bring her in. We will try and do everything possible to help her. They are the only vet to ever say that to me. From the moment we walked in there they did everything possible to make my 10 year-old daughter so comfortable and of course, our dog Lola. All the staff were so sweet but I have to give a big shout out to vet tech Johnathon and our Veterinarian- Valerie Savino. I never thought in 1 million years. I would actually feel happy in a place like an emergency vet. They treated her and they care about your fur baby. Everywhere else I’ve ever been always feels more of a financial concern over the care that we have received but at VEG it’s totally opposite. They don’t even mention the financial aspect of it at first and make sure your pet is comfortable and has everything they need. I feel so blessed to have a VEG in the area. They are truly one of a kind. Our other two dogs we’ve had for nine years and one has the worst allergies most pets I’ve ever seen so we’ve been to our share of veterinarians… nothing has ever compared to the experience we went through at VEG! And just to put it out there they don’t ask for a review, I did it out of my heart because that’s how strongly I feel they need to be recognized because of how amazing they are!!! I would trust them with all of our fur babies over and over again because they treat them like their own!! They take many different payment arrangement programs for those not able to afford full out-of-pocket care as well. I am so appreciative of VEG! Thank you again Valerie and Johnathon. You guys are the best!!!
