Dr. David Toomey
Medical Director
University of South Florida; Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Toomey completed his undergraduate degree at the University of South Florida and obtained his veterinary degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech). After graduation, he moved across the country to complete a small animal rotating internship with a focus in emergency and critical care medicine in Gilbert, AZ. After working for a year as an ER/ICU veterinarian, he found VEG and fell in love with our focus on the client/patient experience. He joined VEG Phoenix shortly after its opening in 2023 and has since completed both the VEG ER Certificate as well as a Medical Director Apprenticeship. He has a deep love for surgery, servant leadership, and patient comfort in and out of the hospital.
